Re: Wakefield Park NSW Club Class Records
Monday June 21, 2010 will go down as one of those days where conditions were perfect for everyone to improve on their previous best times.
The State Supersprint round the day before laid down some good rubber and the temperature of the day didn’t get above 15 degrees.
Bryan Sheddan, Allan Cruz, Glenn Thomas, Mark Hellmund, Phil Ashton, Phil Munnings, David Raddatz and Linda Moore all set new class records.
Glenn Thomas knocked off Albert Concha’s record for a stock NB8B that’s stood since 2006 and the previous day in the Supersprint Tony Williams finally beat Steve Lamond’s record in Scooter that’s stood since 2004.

Thats quick Will. Road registered? If so, you should come to the next club trackday and give Phil Munnings a bit of close competition!

Re: Wakefield Park NSW Club Class Records
Thanks to CB and the moderators for updating the list on the first page.
Interesting to note that MOTOR magazine have recorded some quicker times in Class 3. Rick Bates did a 1:14.60 in a stock SE (Sep 2004 issue), and Warren Luff did a 1:14.10 in a stock NC2 (Aug 2009 issue). On the other hand, Julian beat John Boston's time of 1:14.55 in an NC1 (Nov 2005 issue). It's good to see that our club members have gotten within a few tenths of the times for pro racing drivers, and it shows there's still a little room to improve the records in this class.

Class 3 – Standard road registered SE, NC
SE 1:15.09** Dave Hammon 8 July 2006
NC 1:14.38 Julian Flitcroft 22 June 2008

No, unfortunately it can't be registered. Was brought into aust after the laws were changed. Also it has thicker sway bars ( unknown origin?) and a front strut brace.

Ah, in which case, it looks like your target to beat is Linda Moore's Class 7a NA8A record of 1:11.75.

Re: Wakefield Park NSW Club Class Records
The record for a NA6A in class 6 is from 2006. I did 1.11.2 last time in my NA and the record is 1.10.4. I need to find a second. I NEED YOUR HELP AGAIN MARK ! What was Vern driving? Turbo charged 1.8 I assume. Does it mean that for that record you need to have a 1.6 motor or a NA ? What is the record for a road registered NA 1.8 with Super/Turbo Charger.

NA6A is the 1.6.
The car is probably the most famous NA in AU. GURGLR.
Yes road registered.
Yes zillions of $$$ spent on it.
Yes there's been magazine articles written on it, also with Vern's other car, a turbo 10AE.
Vern sold it and a short time later the new owner stacked it. http://www.mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtop ... 88&start=0 Mania bought it and did a repair job and Dave pinched the Wilwood brakes off it to fit to the Black Beast.
Oh another thing. Vern's time was a couple of seconds slower than Jason's, the previous owner but I can't find the actual time.
Do a search for Gurglr and you'll find a u-tube link to Slammer having a drive of it.

Re: Wakefield Park NSW Club Class Records
Gurglr not on U Tube from what I can see & not much on Google. It looks like Mania owns this car or most of the bits from it. I am still wondering what the lap record is for a forced induction NA 1.8.I am looking for a target time for the track day next month. If I can find .8 of a second I will be down around that 1.10.4 time..Also wondering what sort of RWKW GURGLR had/has..Patrick
