a couple of vids as requested of the sound.
Both are with the silencer in.
unfortunately I can't get any vids atm of the car acccelerating, but it sounds different under load so I'll try and get some eventually.

I do but it's pretty much invisible unless you're looking for it. It's a shame this one is so visible :S

Silencer isn't the most attractive thing, but I dont really notice it that much.
it certainly looks beter than a yellow sticker on the windscreen

yeah, I might eventually.
I'll probably just end up leaving it and it will go black from being covered in soot and sh*t

couple of purchases over the weekend.
#1:
got a new Oil filler cap. yeah, it's a knockoff, but meh, it looks nice and was cheap.

#2:
bought a Silicone joiner for my intake, it's blue unfortunately, but it'll do until I can find a black one.
and while on the subject of intakes, I had decided that I wasnt happy with any of the places to relocate the factory Washer bottle.
But I also wasn't happy with the fact that nopro bottle's cost over $100
so I bought this one (on the right).

just a dummy fit for the moment, need to make up a pair of brackets to hold it in place.
so yeah, fits neatly, looks fairly OEM to the untrained eye, came with all necessary Pump, wiring, piping and fittings (although it looks like it should fit all the OEM pipes and plugs)
nopro - $100+
Generic bottle - $35
the bottle is for a late 70's Holden I think.

a few things.
changed oil and filter, filter isn't too hard to reach, but what stupid positioning!
loosen filter, watch dirty oil flow out of it and onto the driveway.
meh, degreaser removed it, but still annoying.
filled with nice fresh Castrol Magnatec.
also tested the new washer before fitting it, works well, only problem is that I need a gay plug for it, both the OEM plug and the pump attachments are male, so I need a plug with female both sides.

Re: My era of MX5 ownership! Twilight Blue NB8A
not many updates.
Padded the rollbar finally, so now it's actually legal.

(I have clipped the cable ties down)
and picked up a set of springs and shocks from an NA for a slab of beer.
seller wasn't too sure about them, all he knew was that the shocks are stuffed, and the springs were possibly Mazdaspeed.
so I went down, picked them up, and after checking what was left of the labels, discovered they were Pedders 2332, so I looked up the product code and found that 2332 is Pedders Sportsrider Lowered springs for the front (the rear coils have lost their labels)
so yeah, I'll be whipping them off the shocks, and putting them on my not that old NB shocks.

so yeah, I'm not too sure exactly how low the SportsRiders are, the Pedders site is pretty crap for that. I'm expecting somewhere between 30mm and 50mm

Great looking car!!!!
I used to have the same sticker on my roll bar. I remember the officials at every track meet used to give me crap about it.

I believe your car may have been the one that *inspired me!
I remember seeing one on an MX5 ages ago and it stuck in my mind.
*Inspired sounds better than "Stolen"
in other news, had a run on the Dyno on Saturday.
Done at RE Customs, and she made 79kw even.
So yeah, it looks healthy, seems fairly linear just has a little flat spot between 132 to 144kph (whatever that works out to in RPM)

so yeah, I think it's an ok figure for a fairly stock NB8A (all it's got is the rear muffler changed)
a stock NA6 there made 67.2kw, and Pam's made 69.9kw

Strut brace, take 2!
ok, a while back I bought a cheap strut brace. Then discovered that it wouldn't clear my aircon line
So I ended up selling it to bensale where it found a happy home under the bonnet of his NA.
anyway, after that I've kind of been keeping my eye out on strut braces.
and it turns out, this popped up:

happily clears aircon without any need to modify anything.

and has nice, neat welds.

and it's jdm yo!
but does need a polish badly.
as for feeling, I seem to have less 100kph shimmy, and it feels a bit stiffer in the front coming out of driveways etc, but I havent had a chance to drive it hard yet, just nanna spec.
