Fattima builds a race car

Postby fattima » Fri Aug 13, 2010 5:39 pm

Thought it was time to start a build thread on my new toy.

It is going to be built to 2B regs and be normally aspirated. There is not much racing for 2B cars in Vic but I will be able to run with Sports Sedans at AASA events, CAMS are currently working out if they will let MX5’s run. One of the main aims of this project is to have a car to build as it is a process I really enjoy.

Car as picked up from hail damage auctions in Melbourne 114,000 on the clock full service history etc, not a bad car.

Car now back from getting the cage at meridian (same as Lightyears car), really happy with the quality of the work done by them.

Next is to strip the underseal off, and start painting the entire car. I hoped to do that this weekend but I’m driving to South Australia in my mates one of these

To pick up one of these

Trip was great Simon,

Bit of fun road trip was lots of beer and laughs. Picking up the car was an aside almost!

I'll try to keep this thread updated, not much to report at the moment. I'm just going to start getting everything ready for painting then wait till we get some warm weather, if that ever happens......
