Good to see you're back on track Chris.

What did you end up doing with the engine?

I still haven't decided what to do, one day I'm thinking about jsut doing cams and a bit of headwork, the next day I'm doing a full on race engine and the next I'm thinking about a turbo car

Hey Col,
I got it from these guys
http://www.ecliptech.com.au/

Pretty easy to install - cept I got a mate who did it haha :D

Paul,
Cheers mate! yeah about 4weeks ago I did my first sprint in 7 months, ended up with a 2.02 at EC so 3 weeks later I was stoked to get a 1.59

The best thing for anyone to go quicker is more seat time!!!

All I did was get the head fixed. They cleaned it up a bit but nothing major with headwork as far as I know.
makes a massive 75.4 rwkw :D (101rwhp!)

My plan now is more seat time - and then cams and ECU and that will do me.
I just love being out there!

Yeah, that's the thing. I'm still running mid pack with the standard engine, and it's actually good fun sticking it to the guys with their "race" engines ;)

I'm sure I'd be close to the pointy end with a new motor but is that really going to make it more fun?

I would still like something a bit quicker but still relaible and road registered, and have toyed with the idea of getting an SE or NB turbo, but if nothing comes up I may just do an engine rebuild that's not too over the top so it's still suitable for the occasional drive on the road, and relaible.

Glad to hear everything is coming together.

Probably not going to make it to the nats at this stage, as it looks like I'll be doing an engine and purchasing a car trailer in the very near future.

I'd love to build a "sports sedan" type NA with turbo or supercharger, CF hardtop, doors, flares slicks etc but I'm not really sure what I'd do with it. Up here we can race the AASA Top Gear meetings and I suppose I could come down once or twice a year to do the MX5 Challenge meetings, but for now I'll stick to 2F or 2B so I can race at CAMS tracks.

When's your meeting at Morgan Park? Maybe, I'll come out and catch up there if I can?

Paul.

Cheers Paul!

Yeah I got a new job with a sister company so I cannot make the nats in October but can make Morgan Park on 13th and 14th november

even though its a supersprint - thought to enter?

Id also love an MX5 like that too - like what lightyear is building but as you said you'd be limited to events to race

Bugger, the last round of our PSCRAQ Championship is on at Lakeside on the 14th of November, and my daughters birthday is the 15th so I'm assuming we'll be having aprty for her on the 13th.

We'll catch up someday :D
