"""Help needed""" Heater line seal

Postby ShadyDeals » Mon Nov 01, 2010 9:34 am

hello all, i currently have my turbo off getting a rebuild and my manifold getting a special coating (See links below). While the hot side of my engine bay is open i decided to replace a few parts that are getting a little long in the tooth.

The question i have is regarding the alloy line that runs from the heater core to the engine block. At the engine side of this alloy line is an o-ring seal (pictured) that pushes into the engine block. What is this fitting called? Should i replace this seal? Do they often leak?? Mine was very easy to pull out and push back in, is this normal? Where do you get them from?

Any info would be appreciated.. Shady

Don't the exact name, but it's part of the heater return piping & it's not unknown that the o ring leaks, so I'd replace it given it should be a relatively inexpensive item & while access is easy. Also, the Mazda factory workshop manual recommends replacing when doing waterpump. Probably easiest & quickest to go to a Mazda dealer for the part.
