Thats heaps to keep ya busy

How thick is your new radiator? I have an ARC chamber as well, and in there with the stock radiator I look at it and wonder if a bigger rad would ever fit

Jealous of your wheels too, a good looking car mate.

Thanks. Yeah I went the 42mm one, hope it will all fit. How hard was it to install the arc? I had to take out the radiator fan, and loosen the ac one. So fiddly and tight.

It is a very tight fit yeah, but I managed to slot the ARC in without removing the fan, and I don't have AC so there was more space on that side. I had more trouble getting the stock one out from memory, its very weirdly shaped!

So some good news and some bad news.

Having removed my old plastic cracked window soft top months ago, I was content with just a hard top and the nice spacious rear section that the soft top left. But as summer approached and the skies grew blue I knew I needed a new soft top.
I picked up an nb soft top with glass window yesterday, came with rain rail , frame, top and those brackets that hold the rain rail in place. Dropped it in and all was well until I went to open it up. Glass window hitting my Mazdaspeed 4pt roll bar. Great. So for the love of roadster life I ripped out the roll bar and went off for a drive, top down.

Roll bar will be for sale soon, perhaps after new years.

Another pic of the soft top in better lighting.

Finally got around to dropping in the new radiator, a 40mm unit from ASI. Was abit of a tight fit getting it in there, wasn't perfect but managed to work it out. Only real problem I had from it was the fact that the fan mounting points spaced the fans back a lot more than necessary. Meaning my ARC intake could no longer fit. Sucks but better a nicely cooled car than a slightly more flowing one.

Sorry to hear about your roll bar and the ARC chamber, thats a real bummer :(

Good to have a new top and to have no worries about your cooling :)

thanks slug_dub.

looks like more bad news =(

ASI radiator has a leak, i can see one of the rows has some green coolant on it. Thinking it might be overflow from when i filled it, i wiped it off, only to find more the following day. Sent ASI an email with some pics, hopefully i can get this sorted via warranty.

also the jdm speaker covers dont fit my door card. only suits mx5s with whole door cards, unlike mine which has a separate speaker section. i think its '93 onwards that have this door card.

I think you should look for some new door cards rather than sell the speaker covers!

Hey what type of black is your hard top and pillars? I've been meaning to repaint mine like that since forever now and finally have a guy to do it (though not for a few months). The finish on yours looks fantastic, is it satin black?

Not quite sure what black it is as it was like that when I got it. Pillars seem to be just a standard gloss black and as for the hardtop, it's like a matte/crackle finish?
