Spit is about to get a 5k service today in preparation for the Tassie trip coming up in a little over a week. Can't wait. 
Went out for another rig shoot a couple of nights ago and got this. I screwed up the cloning on the left hand side of the road. I kinda suck at photoshop.
If anyone knows of any unique, classic, modded, drift, track etc cars and the owner is keen to have a rig shot, please let me know. Getting sick of mine.

I found it really interesting looking at your Exif data on flickr, the lens distortion made sense when i saw you were using a 14mm lens. I assume you can't get the rig far enough away from the car to use anything less wide? That being said it's not bad distortion and in some ways adds to the photo.
You're starting to inspire me to go and buy some decent lens' for my digital nikon and go out and play as it's a bit pricey to play with film.

I've always played around with photoshop but I use Lightroom for the most part. Just need more practise. With photoshop there are always multiple ways to get things done and I only know the cheap and nasty way.
I'm not too fussed with the distortion myself although I would like to try a wide angle at about 17mm which does not have complex distortion like mine. The 14mm I'm using has this weird mustache style which requires a fair bit of correction. And yeah, there will be a point where you can't get the rig far enough because it will bounce and you'll end up with a car that covers most of the frame which doesn't look as good imo. I like to see the surroundings and use them compositionally if possible.

Got back from my Tassie trip, nearly a week early. Spit was bad. Very bad. Apparently there was a tiny leak in the water pump which wasn't noticeable. It corroded away and developed into a proper leak on my second day in Tasmania. The leak was a consistent one of about 2L per 50km which allowed me to drive around for a couple more days before I decided to cut my losses and head to Melbourne. I tried looking for a mechanic but it was Saturday and the town (Bernie) was asleep. Hobart had a public holiday on the Monday as well which didn't help.
Arrived in Melbourne yesterday and the plan was to drive it back to Sydney but the leak got a lot worse so I found a mechanic that came recommended by some dude with a massive gut (dudes with guts know their mechanics). Turns out the pump is a bitch to change which I figured it would be. Got the timing belt done at the same time and the car feels very smooth now.

Off to wash the hundreds of bugs now.

Didn't get anywhere near what I wanted. I'm mostly upset that I didn't get to Cradle Mt. Will have to go back for that.
Oh and my computer is dead so I have to get a new one. Pics will be a while.
