The MX516 history, Criss's NA6=]

Postby criss » Sat Apr 30, 2011 4:36 pm

Greetings to everyone in MX5CarTalk, its a while back since i join here but i've never hot a chance to write up my own car's diaries.....i think now its the chance for me to do it=]
i'm a overseas student from hong kong, my first car is a yellow FTO
Image
its a manual, and i learn how to drive in this car, i even take it to the driving test with me, apart from the extremely bumpy suspension, it was a fantastic car, turn a lots of chicks head too:lol:
3 yrs ago i sold it to a young footballer in Canberra, then i never see it around:cry:
i remember i almost cry when i see his dad drove it away from me......god it looks and sounds so good...

few months after i sold the FTO, i realize i cant live without car, therefore i start car hunting, at first i set my eyes on some rotary, a non turbo one specifically cus im still on my Ps, original plan was buy a non turbo S5 FC3S , port the sh*t out of it, sadly tho i couldn't found one in a good condition, even if i flied to melb to look for one....and few months later, this happen......:)

as some of you guys might know( or may be didn't know at all...LOL), i bought Nath's old NA6, which look like this
Image
to be honest i'm not a fan of mx5 before i own one, i thought its a girly and gay car, sorry guys:D
but then i come across nath's car in JDMST, was gonna give it a try, but then it was sold:(
But no matter, it was back on sale a while later, the new owner can afford to have two cars as he is getting married very soon, i told myself i can't miss this chance for this car, not again....
call him up, ok, it looks better then i thought, found a mechanic have a check up, the mechanic report that the car is straight thank god:mrgreen:
but the tires were all flocked up, and the engine isnt have much power,
i went for a test drive, and IT'S SLOW!!!!!!!!
no power at all before 4k rpm, it sounds like a tractor.....but then i thought may be its just because the FTO is more powerful and sound a lot nicer, i might get used to it soon may be, as a result, i put down the money, and drive it home:mrgreen:

Just after a week of ownership, i started to find some parts for it, first up was tires, the G3 on the car is totally ruined, but i found out i can only run semi or Re001 on a 14", i decided to sell it, and the steering wheel is in such a bad condition tat i decided to buy a new one too.

bought myself a nardi deepcorn off Budi from AutoTechnik, very nice guy honestly, after a few chat, he told me he got a set of new RPF1 in black and RE11 for sale, at a good price too, how can i resist??:mrgreen:
ImageImage
what a nice rims and tires, light as air and grip like i've never feel before.
then i think its not enough, so i bought more from US

and more!!!!

and some more!!!!!!!!!

:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgr een:
and it sound like this :shock:

bought some more==
Image
i have to say that, the BD roll bar do stiffen the car A LOT!!!!!

and a Jackson Racing CAI and a beatrush front tower brace=]
Image
the engine bay now looks so much better now, and the tower brace makes the front more solid, less bounce on the steering, and the air box breath in a lot better cus i won't suck in hot air next to the extractor now, but its a bitch to fit........

side story.....when i try to fit the intake and radiator and stuff with my mechanic, jackson racing advice to adjust the time a bit to get the best result, the we found out the timing in the car is WAYYYYYYYYYYYY OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, no wonder its so slow...
adjust it to the advise setting, my god it a lot better

Very nice choice in mods and a very solid looking car!

One question... Where did you get the fujitsubo system from and how much did you get it for? If you don't mind me asking of course :)
