I need to make this right. This garage thread has gone in a direction I never thought it would. I deeply and humbly apologise for acting irrational and emotionally. I said a lot of stuff I didn't mean and take it all back. I had a lot of trouble with this yes but that's no reason to throw a tantrum. There never is.

To clear this up, I'm not selling the car. I just felt so ashamed this morning when I responses on the forum because I wasn't thinking straight and assumed everyone was looking down at me for doing the opposite of what people recommended. I asked Okibi to delete the post about mania, I shouldn't have said it. I KNEW it was a dumb thing to say when I typed it but I was just so angry I did it anyway. I don't think I'll ever lose it like this again.

Further more, It wasn't that I was terrified of breaking my car that I 'rage quit' this morning, more that I was terrified of losing everyones respect on the forum. I've met a lot of great people on here, especially at the garage cafe etc. I felt like everyone would look at me as if I'm a child for drilling the holes out bigger. In reality it's not so bad. Everyone makes mistakes sooner or later and this was mine. I'm learning from it.

I will take on board the advice people have given me now and I'm currently replacing all the nuts with stronger ones with big flat washers and locks. They'll be firmly bolted down and have the load spread right out.

Anyway I'm going to start by saying a big sorry to anyone I've offended and hope things are ok now.

I held back from pointing out what implications I thought that mod might have because I knew you'd already know that. You're not a dumb person, and you're not a child, which is why I was taken aback when I read what you did. I reckon the fact that you've gone through and edited your posts, and wrote up that last post shows that you're a mature guy.

pics will be up tomorrow guys! I've been waiting until I get more of a feel for the coilovers before I give a well rounded opinion. So far it's the first day with them in the car, they haven't settled yet and I read that it takes about 500kms to bed them in before the handlings shows.

So far I can say that it handles extremely flat in corners with the car set to 100mm off ground and running standard street damper. I'm yet to have a real play with damper so I'll have a crack at it over the next few weeks and find a setting that suits me. At first I thought there was a little flex in them but I realised this was sidewall flex since I'd been running low pressure on the tyres. I pumped them back to 32psi and the flex was gone! My tyres are pretty crappy so I was very impressed when I felt how much grip it could get in a corner.

On my to do list for the shockers is to get a good wheel alignment, better tyres and even the heights out. I did some measuring again and the back left is out by 5mm in height still (too tall). I've tried to adhere to the miata thing by keeping the rear roughly an inch higher than the front in order to keep the cars handling characteristics but it's still a little off. It will take some fine tuning but it's still only day one. but I'm very impressed!

I'm very happy with Yellow Speed Racing and would recommend them to anyone keen on affordable coilovers. Oh and I rang Mania today and let them know that the distance between the shocker struts were a little smaller than the oem ones. Turns out I'm not the only one who's had this problem and my solution was taken by another owner as well hahaha. It seems like there must have been a whole heap of these struts come out of the factory manufactured like this.
Mania have called the distributor about it from memory and are getting to the bottom of it so the studs will be in the right places in future.
The odd part was though that all of them were off my the exact same measurement... Which in a way was good but still weird. There was no way they could have been further out though because looking at the tops of the units, there would be no room on the tops to fix the studs to.
As for my fix, it will take the power of a thousand gods to get any play under those nuts. They're locked too so it's not going to come off without someone willingly doing. I take comfort in that now.

For tyres, I'm thinking of buying a set of re001's for the now. I quit my job so It will be a long time before I can buy awesome wheels.. So instead I'll just get a better set of tyres on my stockies!

edit!!!!
One last thing, i'm VERY impressed with the build quality of the coilovers

Glad wrap's a common prank. What I want to know is why there's a hole roughly cut in the bumper, seemingly for a stock exhaust.
