Re: MX5 BREAKFAST CLUB – SASSO MEMORIAL RUN – 15 MAY 2011
A very well organised run and a great turnout. Was good to see so many people come out to pay their respects to Gerard Sasso.
I was sorry to have to bail right before lunch. I could tell we were coming close to the lunch location but my car was running on fumes. By the time I had found some dirty fuel station, I was pretty much disorientated and had no idea which way to get back. Hope you all enjoyed your lunch and had a safe trip home.

OK, I'll chip in some pics. Didn't really get to meet many forum people but I had a great day.

Re: MX5 BREAKFAST CLUB – SASSO MEMORIAL RUN – 15 MAY 2011
Thank you all for taking the time to come out today and make the run a tremendous success, inspite of the traffic. It was an absolutely beautiful day and it was great to see so many people come out to remember Gerard - a heartfelt thanks.
I must apologise for the bodgy work as the lead, but it was my first run at the start and with such a huge turnout, it was easy for the line-up to stretch out so far. Getting traffic in the way from time to time didn't help things either. I did try stopping here and there to try and bunch us together, but just wound up getting us stuck behind the truck
Sorry to hear about the little bingle the red NC had; hope it isn't too tricky; I understand it was just a touch.. it'll buff out
Many thanks to Midori for taking so much time and effort to organise this run, and I deeply appreciate the efforts he has put in to make this run and previous ones the great times out they've been.
It was great to see Mrs. Sasso and the Ferrari out, and thanks Alex for keep her company. Might have to get her out for the brass monkey
Thanks again everyone, and now ... where are the pix?????

Re: MX5 BREAKFAST CLUB – SASSO MEMORIAL RUN – 15 MAY 2011
Russ, thanks for letting me have a drive of your NC.. it's an awesome car and vastly more capable than my NB. It's a shame I couldn't get to drive it over some of the roads we sampled earlier last month, but it was still a pretty nice drive and great to check out that engine and awesome brakes..
Hope Hamx5ter didn't shake you up too much...
Hopefully, by the next time you drive him, he'll have an EDFC and comfort will be just a button press away..

Hi all,
Great run for Hunter to Bulga & then to Vacy. I played the part of "tail end Charlie" with the mounted radio and good see a great roll up for this special occasion.I hope we kept the run going smoothly as possible from Bulga at the tail
I didn't attend lunch and peeled of on the way to Dungog to get back to Newy for the footy.
Hope to see some photos on forum soon.........

Ahh Russell Wettel, you've got chrome enough for all of us... was such a relief to get back into Hamx5ter's understated (and dark!) interior.. I reckon if you stopped checking yourself out in the various mirrored surfaces in your car, you'd be EVEN faster..

Next time you drive it, I'll dangle a CD from the rear-view mirror for your viewing pleasure...

Re: MX5 BREAKFAST CLUB – SASSO MEMORIAL RUN – 15 MAY 2011
A special thanks to Phil Mayo and the Hunter Chapter for joining us at Bulga and for taking us all on the run to St Clair then across to Vacy.
I do not know how many cars got delayed on the cruiser run, though we had 32 starters from McGraths Hill with 8 MX-5s from Beresfield.
For a virgin run leader Deen 'done good', getting trucked up in the gorges and driving to the conditions on the Putty Road. For those of you at the other end of a 3 to 4 kilometre convoy, up front things were good, a clear & fast open road in bright sunshine either side of the gorges. Thanks Deen for your time and effort we all had a great day out.
Do not forget the Brass Monkey in a couple of weeks.
This open invitation run is as close to an organised cannonball run as you will get, there is the popular option of travelling at whatever speed you feel most comfortable.
The AHOC takes not responsibilities for infringement notices or anything else once the run starts.
The Brass Monkey Return Run is a BreakFast Club Run on twisty or narrow back roads ideal for your MX-5 and away from the highways.
