Kumho must have updated their range recently, as I was under the impression they only made the KU31 for 15" or 16" and higher. That is good news! But what do they mean by "smoke technology"? Does it mean they smoke more than Bill Hicks when you light the tyres up?

As for the RE001s, they aren't mentioned on the Bridgestone website, and considering the RE002s are an equal or better tyre in all aspects (except for size availability), they don't really have any reason to continue selling it.

I guess I'm wrong, I thought the KU31 was available in the 14" size.

I would have thought the RE001 would have been a fair seller in the 14" size, it seems odd they would discontinue it.

RE001 has been superceded by RE002 except for selected sizes please see RE002 webpage for further details

Comparing the three tables, and assuming the website is accurate (!), suggests that RE001s might continue to be available (for now) in:

195/50R15
205/50R15
195/60R15
215/60R15
225/60R15
205/45R16
215/60R16
225/60R16
215/40R17
245/40R17
255/40R17
245/45R17
215/50R17
225/55R17
(and a few more in 18+)

Yes, but the table of available sizes doesn't list any 14", 15" or 16" tyres. I phoned my local Kumho dealer only a few months ago when I was searching for a replacement set of street tyres and in 185/60R14 they didn't have anything better than a basic touring tyre (KH range).

A bit disappointing. The RE002 doesn't come in any 50 profile sizes for 15" rims. So nothing there for us anyway. Seems like a stupid decision by Bridgestone Australia.

Yes true as 195/50R15s are always dirt cheap. How far under $140 are they normally? I just mustn't be able to find a good bridgestone dealer up here. I always went with Kumhos as they were cheaper.

I think it was $138 fitted and balanced to bare RP-F1's which must have been well over a year ago. Thinking of how long I've had them they do very well to survive given I only treat them mean (track, skidpan, drifts, etc, no highway km). If I could afford to I'd have another set of semi's for the track and just run these on the road but they do 'ok'.

I think Stingray managed to get his for around $120 fitted.

Yes Kumho's are cheaper but RE001's have a lower wear rating than KU31's. I'll probably try 205/50/15 KU36's next time.

I've said it in previous threads, and it's probably worth saying again here.

Always phone the dealers (preferably a master dealer) and ask about availability of sizes. I've had plenty of experiences where the full range of sizes are not shown on the web sites. Bridgestone Australia is a major offender.

Tyres on the people mover are bald, didn't last that long

Who's had experience with the Potenza Adrenalin RE002 or S001? Anyone know if it's just a different tread pattern/sidewall or if the S001s are a softer tyre?

I've run 001's for the past two and a half years. Found them a great road tyre especially in the wet. Took them around tassy with the mx5 club ride and they were superb. Last month switched to the 002's I can vouch for them as better than the 001's in all respects (I dont care about wear as its my fun car and K's dont matter). Went to Wakefield last week and for $125 per wheel they were awsome on the mx. I listened to tyres screaming all around me but the 002's went quitely about their business.

Took me awhile for the 002s to feel as good as my 001s but the 001s were almost slicks They're a great tire but you have to expect them to wear quickly, got about a years use out of them on the people mover (no motorsport).
