Did you ever think that this guy may not be able to pick the correct words to get his meaning across, or that he may be from another country, and struggle with english.
That just because he isn't a motor mechanic doesn't mean he is clueless. Whether he uses the search function is of no consequence, he has asked a question, if you don't like the fact he hasn't used the search function, don't answer the question.
But it is rude to tell him he knows nothing of cars, when you know nothing of him. I have know text book engineers, wo have not known how a cam follower worked until it was explained, and once it was explained they made greater advances in problem solving than most would be capable of.
Like myself you don't know the background of most of the people on this forum, except that we all love MX5's, but there are engineers, Pilots, IT guru's, company owners and managers, and people who make a lot more money, than both of us combined.
So just be a bit considerate and treat people the way you like to be treated, with respect.

Well said, and Dan i think your response to this post is what most people in my years of experience on this forum would welcome.It has always been characterised by generally considered responses that take into account the posters experience and knowledge of the poster and if that is a problem for you then perhaps you should relieve yourself of the anxiety it is obviously causing you, or adjust your responses accordingly.

Dann did answer the OP's question and I can see the frustration forum regulars have when we often have people join and expect others to spend their valuable time answering a question that could have quickly and easily be answered by using the search function or goggle.

To be honest i'm surprised and happy we haven't had a tirade from those users who'd rather see an MX-5 bog stock.
mito, obviously that "stance" effects your cars performance and thus safety.
Most people buy an MX-5 because they're a great handling car, you'll obviously touch a raw nerve with some people here as they hate to see someone compromise great handling for the sake of looks.
To make your MX-5 look like a pair of fatties are sitting inside requires you to make your car unroadworthy, you'll find that others don't want to offer detailed suggestions in case the modifications cause you to have a fatal accident.
There's loads of stance threads on ClubRoadster, getting the SoCal look is more expensive than eating loads of dounts at KINOD, there's a few on this forum with an unbelievable knowledge of wheel types and fitments but it's probably easier to search clubroadster for the wheels you like then ask here how to best get hold of the wheels you want. There's plenty of options to get your MX-5 running ridiculously low, you'll probably need some adjustable upper arms to get that level of camber though.

Have to agree with Dann, it does tend to get annoying, as when you actually use the search function you have to filter through all the threads where people are told to use search and then someone usually just posts a link to a previous thread with the exact same question! Everyone gets so sensitive about their feelings on forums lol

invest in some tein superstreets and low offset wheels. there's no cheap way in either of them, unless you get some tempe tyre crap.

The angle of the wheels is by getting an alignment. How far they stick out is just the offset of the wheels.
You cant lower a car this much for cheap and retain good handling.
The car in your pic is super try hard. That offset with that camber and ride height would be uncomfortable handle like crap and be horrible to drive. Theres nothing high performance about it.

I don't endorse laying frame personally and hellaflush/slammed is a bit try hard in my opinion but if do whatever makes you happy mate. That's the beauty of a forum, it's a group of people with a core interest in a particular thing but so many different ways of expressing it. Everyone has a different opinion etc
ANYWAY! I DO agree with Dann that you should have searched first but I was a noob too and used to start new threads on stuff I could have searched so I'm not going to judge.
I disagree with Sliq though. If you want to get that look, get a set of cheap YSR coilovers which will set you back a grand or less, or look for a set of BC BR series coilovers. They're pretty good and won't set you back a lot of money. There is no point forking out for Super Streets since they don't have a seperate collar adjustment for height and are pretty poor value for price. Factor in that you're going to be hell stanced so you won't be getting great performance out of the car anyway so you may as well go for cheaper coilovers. If you fork out the money for expensive JDM stuff, you'll never get to appreciate the quality of them.


Secondly, that car is running a set of Diamond Racing Steelies.

They are VERY cheap and very wide with insanely low offsets. You'll have to roll and pull your guards to get these to fit under and run very stretched tyres like this

Then run a LOT of negative camber to make them sit on that mental 45degree angle. That will not only make the car sit lower but also give it more 'stance'
I think to get more camber adjustment you can readily buy control arms with more camber adjustment?

Have to google that, it's been a while since I've seen them but I think you can pick them up on mania for cheap. From what I understand there isn't that much adjustment on the rear so you might need these.
I hope I've helped. Like I said, I'm not a huge fan of this look myself but I'm not going to judge other people for having different taste from my own.
Like mentioned earlier, join CRnet. Those guys are VERY stance oriented and love hellaflush/slammed etc. You'll get a lot of help there.
Good luck mate.
But one last thing. If you DO go through with this. you need to take protective measures so you down obliterate the underside of your car! Invest in frame rails, raised engine mounts and I think beatrush have a steel stone guard for your undertray.


This will raise your sump so you don't crack in on the ground, protect the engine from crunching on speed humps, stop the rails under your car for messing up. It should HELP protect you but remember you WILL damage your car!
Be sure to check out Mania for parts http://www.mx5mania.com.au/ you can get YSR coilovers cheap there. I have a set and they rock!
Everything else, google.
but for a rough price breakdown you should be looking at

$600 for beatrush plate?
$400 for steelies
$600 for frame rails
