100%

If its the spring, buy one from bunnings for 80c and cut it to length. Not an mx5 shop for $14.

Awesome, sounds good to me. Is there an easy way to open the door without the handles working? I know I'm an apprentice mechanic but I don't really have much experience with inside doors and locks and stuff, only dealt with them once or twice.

Youll just have to push and pull bits in there till it opens. But without the part the spring holds in place; in its place, it wont open. So get in there and have a few goes. Or drive to bunnings and replace the spring at lunch tomorrow.

Yeah I think I'll go to bunnings, considering I park in their carpark for work haha.

You should see 2 halves of a spring hanging. The spring is about 5cm long and 1cm wide.

All sorted now, the spring was only missing the hook so I just bent another one on the end of it and put it in. Both doors as good as new!

Passenger side power window cable sh*t itself today on the way home so I took all that out and cable tied the window up to the stops. I'll replace it all when it gives me the shits.

Car is going great with the new plugs and leads. Well, by great I mean 4 cylinders is better than 3. That's pretty much all from me for tonight.

That tip is just gold, Dann!

We should have a running list of ingenious cheapo fixes!

gave the soft top the old permaban treatment as well, and modified my ariel mount to take the mazda3 stubby ariel. If you have access to a bench grinder or some form of hacksaw, cut the threaded bit of the ariel mount that sticks up (after you remove the cap and the old ariel) and once it's flush with the top of the mount, the stubby ariel should screw straight on. However the rubber coating on the new ariel goes down to almost be a skirt? I cut that off without thinking about it first but I can't see why it wouldn't work without cutting it. if you have to, I just used a razor.

Pics of the weekend. Also got it washed, I was gonna t-cut and polish it to see how good the paint was but turns out I didn't have any clean applicators or microfiber cloths, no coin for new ones and no motivation to use the washing machine haha.

Here we are ladies and gents:

For anyone who's interested in what I used on the wheels. Not available to the public apparently but that's just what I'm told, research that sh*t yo!

Loving the signature flaky white.

I almost miss my flaky white seeing that.

Yeah I'm actually starting to like it haha.

It wont rust.

So no hellaflush points.
And bugger hellafuch and all the bro styles.

My motto about my ugly cars has always been that you can paint your showcar flouro pink and install 11 subs, but when I pass you at 8.5K on the limiter in 3rd gear sideways, no one will be looking at your car 8)

It won't rust? I know the bonnet won't but the guards and other panels should over time. I'm not chasing a particular style either, as long as I can say something cliche' about it being totally mine. haha, just kidding. I'm definitely interested in this 3rd gear sideways at limiter though :D
