I have been desperate to go racing for about as long as I can remember. I had a LE NA8 turbo that I was using for trackdays and sprint type events which were great fun but to me just not enough. A chap I know had been racing this car here for some years and had been giving me a lot of help with my last car when he out of the blue offered me his race car. A deal was done and here we are! I should be racing next season.
It is still in the colours the last owner raced it in. I am still trying to decide on my own colour scheme. The front bar is painted blue but all the rest is vinyl.

Brakes are Impreza STI Brembo's on Skyline GTR discs. This combination was chosen as it allows a 30mm thick disc that is readily available. Pads to suit the Brembos are available everywhere. The car used to run NA8 brakes with serious pads in them but it was eating a set of discs every couple of races. Rear brakes are stock.

When I picked the car up it was running the stock master cylinder which lacked feel and was very snatchy. The last owner just got used to it but I decided to fit a Wilwood 1 inch master cylinder to try and improve the feel. There is also a bias adjuster in the car. I have not yet been on track to test the new master cylinder.

The engine is making 245RWHP. It has a AVO turbo kit, oil cooler, intercooler, PWR radiator, Commodore coil packs, an exhaust that just sticks out the side of the car with no silencers and a few trick internal bits. It has done 300RWHP on the dyno but was wound back to look after the transmission.

No headlights on the car so the oil cooler and air filter sit in their place and are fed air through the holes where the indicators used to be.

Interior has a full cage and a few gauges...boost, oil + water temp and RPM with shift light. I also just fitted a Miataroadster short shifter with the long gear stick. I have not been on track to try it yet but it feels really good just trying it. The gearbox is a 6 speed 99-00 gearbox.
Can anyone identify the seat?! I want a new cover for it.

The car also has a LSD, tein coilovers and a fat anti-roll bar.
At Barbagallo long circuit it has done a 65.3 and was raced around the 66 mark...I have only dríven it once and was some way off that but (race driver excuse) it was my first time driving it and I was out to just get a feel for it and not push. I am heading out again on Monday 15th August to set up the brake balance and I would like to push in to the low 67 bracket.
