Buddy Club spec Coilovers

Hey lads, currently looking for coilovers after I fix up a few things on my car, I'am leaning towards the BR series BC racing coilovers seeing as alot off people have used them for there mx5's and the BR series have the damper adjustment on top off the actual shock instead off being hidden underneath the wheel guard on the next model down. The other coilover that i'am interested in tho is the Buddy Club N+ spec damper (http://www.buddyclub.com.au/) its gonna cost a bit more but it really looks the goods. Has anyone used this brand before on there cars?

Its a 98 model NB series 1, I'am after a coilover that I can use now and won't have to really change over if i take it off the road and devote it too a full track car... its a big call to ask for but I'am up for the challenge, I'am the sort off person that loves driving the loudest, lowest and stiffest car on the road tho! :lol:

I can give you biased advice, having just purchased a set of pss9 coilovers from http://www.shox.com. they are awesome, blue in colour, 9 adjustment settings, double spring setup ( large main spring, smaller firmer spring above).

Came in at $1500 delivered, they will last ages, abit more than the average bc/yellowspeed cost ($1000?) But you won't be disappointed.

You need to use the existing top hats, but the stock height sits nice and low and the hold is tight. I purchased a set after seeing Badbongs SP with a set fitted.

TEIN super streets are legal and an option, the flex model isn't legal in nsw.

How do the PSS9s go once you lower it and the shock travel is decreased?

I thought most companies moved away from this type of 2nd helper spring setups in the late 90s.

They are to keep the short springs on the car, so they dont fall off.

thanks for the help guys, are there certain coilovers that are legal and illegal, can't you get them certified by a workshop when they fit them? I will most likely use mazda plus at zillmere to fit mine correctly.

That depends on your bump stops and top hats. But essentially the same as any other coilover.

To be brutally honest, I don't have enough comparables so when you say

I can't answer it yet, as my cars set isn't installed yet. Just noticed/felt the difference on a friends car. From what I have gathered and he has told me, no bottoming out or rubbing issues from contact with the shorter springs, I was suprised with the dual spring set-up. I know the pss10 have since been released but they suit the NC and not the NB configuration unfortunately. I presume you could put longer, harder bump stops in to change the condition of the ride to suit the hide afterwards.

I'll keep you posted.

You can find many sellers, but I have found www.shox.com to be a great company to deal with, and will happily recommend them to anyone.
