Hero Milanza HZ-1. Please reconsider.

Hey all, I bought these because I didn't want to buy really good tyres as they will be used up prematurely due to an alignment issue causing excessive wear.

In the dry these are above average, cornering is only average when comparing with tyres such as RE001 & KU31 because the contact patch is fairly small and shoulders are faily round, plus sidewalls are very soft.

In the wet they are average BUT once they loose traction and aquaplane, hang on tight! Very poor indeed.

I was on the highway doing just under 100km/h in pretty decent rain when suddenly my car wanted to become close friends with the centre divider. I was immediately thankful that I was in an all-wheel-drive.

well they are made by a relatively reputable co, and Kumho KU31 were even cheaper at one time....

Car IS aligned properly, it's just something inherent/common with the model. Camber pins and more toe-out was added and it helped, but other than buying camber-plates or coilovers with adjustable camber plates to add more negative camber, there's not much more I can do. Excessive outside shoulder wear is the issue BTW.

What car is this?
Excessive wear because of bad suspension design is a real good reason to put that make on the stay away list.

Pulsar GTi-R. No camber & caster adjustment, only toe.

Talked to the guys at Option1 and they said it's not unusual for AWD's as they've had quite a number of Lancer Evolutions go through with the same problem. Even Evo X's. Cars running 3-4 neg camber, even if they do little track time, is the norm

Best I can get atm is just under -2.5.

The Pulsar GTi-R is a dog (sorry) it needs a set of quality camber pins, heavier front springs (std are only about 170lb) to around 350-400lb and a biiiiig rear bar around 22-24mm.
Till then tyres will shred.

26mm Whiteline rear anti-sway bar was installed fairly quickly, and also helped a little with tyre wear.
I know K-Mac make great stuff, but at the price of their camber-tops, I might as well save up more and install coilovers.
There's strong potential for making it a great handling car and I've researched what many people here, in Canada and UK do.

One characteristic that is really nice about it's handling is, if you come into a corner too hot, a light-medium stab of the brakes tucks the front end in, very much like applying rear brakes on a motorbike to tighten up your line.
I liked that alot.

just adding more camber isn't gonna stop outside wear issues. until the suspension is stiffened up, it will always wear the outside of the tyre if you drive it hot.
