I think Pam picked up a set of KU31 in that size from Moorabbin Tyre Factory for $99 a tyre.
Great tyres for the price, grippy, quiet, and good in the wet.
I need new tyres, help?

Interesting, what other mechanical stuff do they sell/do there or is it just selling and fitting tyres?

Your opinion sounds like a rumour to me. The Kumhos I have brought from Tempe and from JaxQuikfit have been extactly the same. Just Tempe have been 30% cheaper (without fitting).Gmi wrote:Khumos from Tempe are made for Asian climates. They harden faster. So if you don't wear your tyre out quick enough I wouldn't buy it. That's just my opinion.
What you pay is what you get, but for the price they sell it at, very reasonable
I'd pay a little extra and potenza all the way( my opinion )
Tyres that don't get much use, ie- see less UV light, lessexposure to oils/chemicals/detergents or extreme heat or cold do not harden quicker than regular used tyres which are exposed to those types of elements everyday.

Nope, I think they just do tyres...
More opportunities have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision.

Re: I need new tyres, help?
I recently purchased a set of RE002s from TyrePower in Reservoir. I can highly recommend the tyre and also the fitter. Ray at TyrePower does quite a lot of MX-5s and took a great deal of care with the fitment, wheel alignment and customer service.
He gave me a good deal too, phone around a few places first and then call him would be my recommendation.

I did a little digging and my Kumhos that were delivered yesterday from Tempe through eBay were manufactured in March of this year in the Vietnam plant. I would highly doubt that they are made for a particular climate. But time will tell when they get put on the car as to what they're like.project.r.racing wrote:Your opinion sounds like a rumour to me.
