Which Combo?

You said you plan on fitting much wider rubber in the future. The 15x8 6UL's would be more versatile with tyre options ranging from 195/50/15 to 225/45/15 if need be.

Here are my 15x9's with 225/45/15. They still don't fill out the guards but that's the point with these wheels.

But to answer your question, go the 15x7.5 6UL's with 205 rubber :D

Thanks for such a detailed response mate.

I originally had my heart set on the 15x8 but I thought they were just unnecessary. However, there must be a reason everyone is getting them.

I guess what I want to know is how different will 15x8 feel opposed to 15x7 with a 205 tyre.

I feel my arm twisting back to the 15x8 now....

Johnd on this forum has 205/50 x15 on et 35 15x7's and it will do exactly want you want, much bigger and you will have tyres sticking out or rubbing.

Looks much better than standard but has no drama associated with the fitment. You will also take a bit of the inbuilt speedo inaccuracy away as well!

Peter.

Another bonus re the speedo, I had read up on that but thanks for reminding me Peter.

I have seen Johns car before but I can't recall what the wheels looked like. Do you have a photo at all Peter?

Thanks mate.

Cheyne, I've got 205s on a 15x7, you're welcome to borrow them for a day to have a scoot around and see what they feel like.

No, plohl hadn't started a garage yet. Would have taken a photo last night but didn't read the forum till this, morning. Get what your hart is set on, saves being disappointed latter. Plus 8 s will have better resale.

I wanted 8 s but save buying them new at about 700 each and not being sure they would fit, I didn't have much if an option.

I'll try and get plohl to take a photo, but should be pictures on the net.
