Buy stock shock absorbers from a 06 NC?

Hi Guys,

The story is, the seller bought his 2006 NC new, and around 5,000km, he replaced the shock absorbers and later on sold his NC (not sure when). He recently found them lying in the house and wants to sell them, all 4 for $300 bucks.

Is this a good buy (as they are 5 years old)? How much do you think they are really worth?

P.S got my Enkei RPF1 17x7 +45 the day before. So happy! Now I gotta find time to put them on

they will not wear out doing nothing so they should have a long life ahead of them. Insofar as value is concerned check Mazda and make a call on what you are prepared to pay .

Ummm I'll sell you a set with about 35k on them for whatever you'll offer me.
They're only worth as much as someone will pay and $300 is a little steep IMHO

Mazda will probably want around $300 each for OEM replacements. The OEM shocks are quite good and, if you want a spare set, $300 isn't a bad deal. Make an offer or pay what the seller is asking - it's your call.

My original concern would be if they would wear out (and less gas in the shocks?) as they are 5 years old - hence not good at absorbing bumps? or give the same effect as my current stock shock absorbers (05 model)?

So if they sit there doing nothing, the gas in the shock absorbers won't mean there is less gas in the shocks and should be working as new as they have only traveled 5,000km?

reason for replacement- because people like to mod suspensions etc- there a lots of posts on such mods. Shockers wear out with long use or poor roads. I suspect shockers are a lot better and so are our roads.

The seller replaced a lot of parts when he bough the new NC, including shocks, springs etc

I have a set of shocks off a 2007 Ht that the previous owner took off at around 30000klms from memory;You can have them for postage if you are interested.

I am unlikely to have another NC and they are only cluttering up the garage so would like to see them go to someone who needs them.
