BC Racing pricing... strange

Postby Wivvix » Tue Sep 20, 2011 8:46 pm

I was just checking out the BC Racing website.

http://www.bc-racing.com.au/accessories.html

With this price list you can, unless i'm mistaken, essentially parts-build a coilover for around $250 per corner.
That's $1000, or $300 cheaper than most places seem to be selling them for.

Has anyone tried this? Can anyone see anything glaringly wrong or bad about this idea?
I'm more than happy to assemble my coilovers if it saves me 25%.

Normal Replacement Damper $79.00 inc GST (each)x4 ($316)
Rubber Top Mounts $49.00 inc GST (pair) x1
Camber Pillowball Top Mounts $109.00 inc GST (pair) x1
Replacement Spring $25.00 inc GST (each) x4 ($100)
Spring Seat $7.95 inc GST (each) x4 ($31.80)
Spring Seat Locking Collar $4.95 inc GST (each) x4 ($19.80)
Patented Lower Locking Collar $4.95 inc GST (each) x4 ($19.80)
C Spanners $12.50 inc GST (pair) x1
Bottom Mount Assemblies $34.50 inc GST (each) x4 ($138)
Bump Stop $4.50 inc GST (each) x4 ($18)
Damper Rubber Boot $4.50 inc GST (each) x4 ($18)

= 831.90

That's with camber pillowtop mounts. Justjap wants $1300 for rubber mounts front and rear.
Still not sure what i'm missing here. If they come with no warranty, it's still worth it. What are the odds of having 2 shocks fail you in the first 12 months anyway? These are proven kit too.

+ shipping

Since the websire hasn't been updated since 2009, why don't you call the 1800 number and find out the real deal. You might be surprized if you are able to do your own leg work.

Have done so, 5 times yesterday. Nobody picks up. I'm guessing whoever runs the website is MIA... :(
