Cerberus's NA6 Roadster..

Postby Cerberus » Sun Sep 25, 2011 10:15 pm

Hello everyone!

1989 Eunos Roadster Import - approximately 240 000 on the clock - stock.
Does have vlsd as seen on - http://www.miata.net/garage/diffguide/index.html
And enkei 5 spoke alloy as seen on - http://www.miata.net/faq/wheel_weights.html

It took me a long time to save up for this car on first year apprentice carpenters wages.
After very little consideration to the more sensible option I decided, as I didnt yet have heaps of tools to carry around, to get the weekender before I got the work ute (Fingers in ears, eyes closed lalala dont need a ute yet..).

Anyway, here are the only before shots I have:

Rough around the edges but it drove well and the engine felt in good condition.
In my haste and excitement I didn't take too many pictures as I was too busy driving the car and checking it and being enthralled etc..
:D :NA6:
My roadster journey has spanned almost a month now and it has been good and much has been learned...

Well...

I have since painted the A pillar matte black and touched up the flakyness as best suited my budget  :

I have been through countless ideas, plans and pondered many different steps to take in building my car up,
before I had it and since I now have it.

After much thought I currently consider my best and most worthwile step to take is to continue to learn how to drive with greater skill and increase my limits bit by bit till eventuality/definite limits come and modifications start.

However, :P , little fun cheap stuff etc is no matter and I have already retrimmed the door cards and failed twice to replace the centre console with carpet (Inaccurate gearshifter/window switch cuts :x )
Excuse the dirtiness if you would..

Drivers leather seat bum was quite torn so seatcover will do until funds permit fixed back seat.

One of my favourite things about having the import model:

Having 500 extra white gives me the O.K to go 500 extra

Anyway, I am enjoying driving this car everyday with the top down (Can hardly see out of the plastic window) and anyone who thinks that mx5 boots are small, well..

I can fit a collated screw gun in there as well and probably more..
1200 level fits well behind the seat :o

So this is how it sits lately, waiting for me to get back in..

Thanks!!

That shot of the boot reminds me of the movie Go..."Stop what are you doing....it's a Miata". Great thread by the way, and nice choice on the black header rail!
2006 NC Galaxy / Black manual soft top. Ipod, K&N, leathery bits & piano black with smoked repeaters...The love affair has moved up a notch.

OKAYY..

Well I have been slack but only because I havent really done tooooo much to the car since last time.

But, it has since had the transmission and diff oils changed, diff has a bit of a leak on the right hand shaft seal so it will get fixed in time. Engine still uses oil slowly but its not too bad considering the age of the thing. Looking for a cylinder head in brisbane for practicing on and rebuilding for a bit of fun :D.

Soon as I can I will be getting into hillclimb so if anybody has any information as to the best way to get into this, as well as where the best place to get a cheap entry level CAMS approved open face helmet, or if anyone has one they want to sell that would be appreciated.

New KU31 tyres will be the next step as well as a nice aggressive wheel alignment so if anybody can direct me to the reccomended place for these?

Here is the interior as of this afternoon:

Here is the car still wet, not much has changed:

Have been learning alot about proper driving, particularly weight transferance and trail braking kind of things.
If there is anything I should seek to learn as a priority I am open to suggestions?
I will soon need to get out to archerfield to learn how to drift but that will happen when it happens.

Loving learning with this car, everytime I get into another car it is so strange in comparison to how right an mx5 feels to drive.

Cant wait to feel how it is after a proper alignment and fresh decent tyres.
