If they aren't and you're considering getting a set, get the bronze 6ULs, they'd look awesome on your car.

Agreed, bronze would look really good. (Though the nickels look good too. :) )

The 6ULs belong to BitRusty and are actually silver with a crapload of brake dust!

I was bored:

Had to remove the air conditioning mounting points with a cut off disc to bring it forward/high enough:

What's holding it in there? I see no bolts on the bottom or top? :) Makes my IC look tiny! :)

Yeah it was just a test fit, I haven't made up the brackets yet. It's just sitting on the bottom A/C bracket in those pics.

Kinda overkill! :)

Looks like it handles really well on track at QR raceway, went out with a mate and saw a red NB mx5 there with a decent turbo conversion, wheelspin everywhere out off the corners, will have too get mine out there quicksmart. Nice job on recovering from that tail action too!!

We took Matt's car out to Lakeside on Friday which is the same spec as mine. Pretty happy with the times; he ran a 65.3 on street tyres and a fuel starvation problem turning left into Eastern Loop. Once we get some semis and fix the fuel issue they should be even quicker!

Went out to QR again with the MX-5 club, managed a few 67s on the Clubman:

Zoomzoom was also driving my car on the day and cracked out a few 65s!

We played with the shock stiffness and found with all 4 set to the 'middle of the road' setting the car would get crazy oversteer on rebound. After dialling up the rear shocks a bit (very minor adjustment) the car seemed to have shittier turn in but it was more stable and faster.

Tyre pressures were 35psi front & 34psi rear hot.

Took the car out to Lakeside on the 20th of September and cracked out some 67.4s. The car was about half a second quicker after fiddling with the front suspension mainly because I had more confidence. I always felt the front was 'not planted enough' for lack of a better description. I cranked the fronts up 4 clicks and it was night and day difference, the car appears to not float or push as much and this was proven in lap times. Tyre pressures were left alone (35psi front & 34psi rear hot).

I wasn't able to go flat under the bridge or through the turn coming onto the straight but the kink was fine (Kumho KU36 street tyres).

No mechanical issues at all! :)

Only complaint is the diving under brakes seems excessive, I think I'll order some 8kg/mm springs for the fronts and have a play. It will only get worse/more exaggerated with stickier tyres.

Got some new 15x8 shoes, really happy with the offset:

Also swapped out the 6kg/mm springs in the front for some 8kg/mm ones. I did a rough calculation and found the car would sit approx 40mm higher with this change, so I ordered a 150mm spring (replacing a 200mm spring) as I was already almost at the bottom of the adjustment perch.

Long story short; the new springs look like they will be okay but they aren't captive at the full unloaded shock length, I don't think it will be an issue for track work. If I want to go significantly lower I will probably have to get helper springs.

Itching to hit the track again!!
