Meet: McDonalds at Heathcote
Times: 6.30am for 7.00am start. If you prefer to join the run later in the lower Southern Highlands then

Meet 2: Wilton Road in Wilton township to pick up Peter Carpenter for the back roads to Robertson.
Time: Between 7.45 & 8.00am & jump on the back as we pass by no waiting unless we arrive before 7.45am

Details: If you want to squeeze in one last run for 2011 with the MX5 BreakFast Club or a spirited drive to Coffee & Lies then here is your chance. A short 200km run that finishes where Coffee & Lies begins at the Cliffhanger Café at Bulli Tops overlooking the Illawarra coastline.

Holding true to the practice of the BreakFast Club the route will take the roads less travelled whenever convenient and the MX-5 Xmas Run will take the highway down to Appin Road for a run to Wilton through Broughton Pass to meet up with Peter Carpenter and late starters. Peter will lead through his favourite back roads through Picton, Thirlmere and Bargo.

The route from Bargo will drive along Remembrance Way to zip around the back of Mt Gibraltar onto Old South Road then along Range & Kangaloon Roads to reach the Robertson Pie Shop for short refreshment stop.

After the break Bryan Shedden will take us down the Macquarie Pass to the narrow country lanes behind Albion Park & Yallah guaranteed to test the suspension set up and handling of your MX-5 after the smooth tarmac of the descent from Robertson.

From Yallah the route will follow the highway before a reverse run of the usual drive along the Illawarra escarpment through the rainforest, in reversal of the usual direction, driving from Mt Kembla to Mt Keira then on to Bulli Tops and Sublime Point for breakfast at the Cliffhanger Café.

As Xmas is a time for giving, our sponsor MX5 Mania will provide prizes to help raise money for our charity, Care Flight. All will be asked to donate a few dollars for this good cause as a life saved by Care Flight could be someone you know.

RSVP: No registration required but you are asked to express you intention of joining the run by placing your name on the list that is posted on this thread.

Organiser: Michael Soulos (Midori) Mob: 0413 11 33 99 email: michael@soulos.com.au
Run Leaders: Grant Freeman (Heathcote to Southern Highlands) Peter Carpenter (Wilton to Robertson), Bryan Shedden (Robertson to Bulli Tops)

The route as posted will change as the bridge over the Cataract River is closed for repairs  . The original route was about 225km and the new route will be a shorter by about 10km. The amended route through the Southern Highlands north of Mittagong will be posted next week :) .

MX5 MANIA LUCKY DRAW FOR XMAS RUN

Image

MX5 Mania are the sponsors of the MX5 BreakFast Club and David & Simone are donating a Gift Voucher as the prize for a lucky participant on the MX-5 Xmas Run 8) .

As it is Xmas and a time for giving, the MX5 BreakFast Club collecting donations for Care Flight at a cost of $5.00 per head which includes the cost of a Santa Xmas Cap. :) If you have reservations about donating to Care Flight :frown: then consider that a life saved by Care Flight could be someone close to you.

Donating is not a prerequisite to joining the run it is simply an opportunity to give to a worthy cause :P . Nobody should think poorly of you if you choose not to part with $5.00. To give or not to give.........
