Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
I left a bit late. Looked like snow along the side of the freeway near Marulan!
Presume it was hail. Nasty!

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
It was a great day with a lot of runs towards the end of the day.
My times weren’t great getting use to the new tyres. (star spec)
Have yet to work out the correct tyre pressures.
Had some interesting comments through the day.
1: For a girly car these things go very hard and fast. I might have to change my thoughts!
2: Sitting on the grid with a striped out Pulsar race car beside me when the driver said you better go first your faster.
On the trip home I thought there must have been a snow storm at one stage but it turned out to be hail.

BTW Who's doing Round 2 to ensure the MX5 club stays ahead of the pack?

Love the slide-by shots of Guran!
I thought wow the cameraman did well to catch that, then I saw your videos and noticed that's just your line! Great shots, great steering

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Thanks Scotty.
I did have a few excursions onto the dirt (three at turn 2), and through luck or good management he caught two of them on camera!
I hadn't used R-specs at Wakefield for six months and was braking a tad too late for turn 2.
But yeh, I like sliding through turns 2 to 5 ... it's the quickest way in a standard car because it lets you get the car turned sooner and on the power earlier.

It's very hard to get a wheel up when you don't have swaybars ... but it can be done.

I've gotta say that his photography just keeps getting better and better. This set is his best yet and it's just brilliant!

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
SO, as a First Time Supersprinter I have only one basic question left which search hasn't helped me with.
Where on the MX-5 can I mount the dorian timer, without drilling any holes into any metal?
DO I need to buy the bracket?
I remember seeing Bryans mounted in the engine bay somewhere, just can't remember where.
Oh, and my entry form for the championship was not received by post!!! So I have now emailed it directly to Bob Welsh after calling him.

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Luke, I used to locate the Dorian in the front intake, with race tape wrapped around the lower section. I now have a bracket that is screwed to the top of the under tray, on an access flap so it is accessible from underneath too. Wherever you put it, you need to have it aligned in the correct direction and no metal between the Dorian and the track surface.

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Hmm, NB's have that flap as well in the undertray, so is it pretty much drill a hole in the plastic, put a strip of metal as suport and bolt the dorian in?
Also what size bolt will be needed, no idea what size the hole is in the dorian.

on my NB i just zip-tied the Dorian to one of the tubular braces down the rear end (near the diff)
worked all the time

Hmph...
no one told about no metal between the dorian and the floor or aligning it in any way..
I just jammed in the little cubby on the dashboard to the right of the steering wheel, and stuck it down with race tape. Tight fit and was tricky sod to remove.
The circuit club times and my racechrono times were exactly the same, right to milliseconds.
Hey, if it works for me, it should work for everyone right?
