Was talking to a customer of mine today who runs a commodore in superTT and he said they have 40 entries!
Even if I'm just watching, I'm excited! Should be some good racing!

Re: MRA One Day Race meeting May 6 2012
Was a great day, cold, but great.
Was a bummer being on the wrong side of the fence, but the sleep in was nice.
Didn't chat to many of the mx5 guys as I was spectating from the hill most of the day, except for race three where I headed down to turn one.
During said race The black natsoft car got an almighty punt mid kink at top speed and was lucky/skilled, skimmed across the kitty litter, only just got some bite from the sand within a car length of the grass border and tyre wall, enough to slow it enough to turn and rejoin.
He was less than impressed. Rightly so, from my point of view.
Matilda was fast, and unmatched for pace as the only turbo there, but there was always a good dice going on. 1.05s is pretty damn quick. Thinking about investing in some slicks after having a good sticky beak today.

Re: MRA One Day Race meeting May 6 2012
From what I saw there were less on treads than slicks.
Don't be scared off by the pace of the mx5 only races, the supertt grids make sure you'll have someone to race. I know of one mx5 that only entered supertt.
In the prang, the rear bar was inverted well under the tail light, exhaust dislodged, from the outside anyhow... I did overhear that there may be damage under the car, but he did finish the race.
I'm still unsure as to how he survived. The fastest twitchiest part of the circuit and getting turned towards the fence definatley rates up there on the shit-my-pants-o-meter.

Re: MRA One Day Race meeting May 6 2012
I had an awsome day,
My first time in the car was qualifiying with the tt cars, was nerv racking and started off doing 1.17's then got the hang of things by the end of the day and did a best of 1.12.5
No locked diff, just a single spinner, which was really noticeable onto the main straight and through the "fish hook".
I ran khumo slicks that a 4 years old and been passed on to 2 people before me and had huge understeer across the top and through the sweeper and onto the back straight! time to be made up there!!. Really need a better set for july round, lock the diff and get a clutch to handle it.
Some really close racing up front
and fast times. 1.10's would be really nice next time
.
Need some slower cars to come play.
Hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as i did. Im officially hooked

Re: MRA One Day Race meeting May 6 2012
I had a good start to the day with a second in the first MX5 race... Then it all turned to crap when I got pushed off the road while trying to pass one of the morons in one of the white cars, the only reason he was in front of me was because it was a reverse grid race.
The green machine was going really well and I was happy with a.1.08.2 on threaded Tyres...
Thanks to Hume Smash and Mx5mania.

Said white cars were also involved in biffing the black Natsoft car in race three...
They seem quite popular amongst the ranks

Hi Guys, we squeezed a 9.6 out of the NC, the engines still stock with headers and a reflash. Might put the car a diet and try and get into the 8s next time. A dollars worth of broken plastic kept me out of the last race, See you at Eastern Creek. Congrats to the newbee great effort.
