JSCC Gymkhana 'training day' 27th May 2012

Postby Luke » Sat May 26, 2012 2:05 pm

Hey guys

The MX-5 Club sent out a email as the the JSCC was low on numbers for their Motorkana tomorrow.
It is at Eastern Creek sikdan, wet. I mean Sydney Motor Sports Park, LOL.

Never done a skid pan day before so I registered.

You will need to be in a CAMS affiliated club, ie MX-5 Club
Have an L2S license (or you can buy a level 1, 1 day license on the day for $25)
Long sleeve clothing
Helmet

You pay on the day.
Just do the form on the JSCC website.

Contact David Hinitt if there are any more spots.
When I registered last night he said there were a few spots left.

Original email is below

Hi fellow CAMS car clubs,

The Japanese Sports Car Club (JSCC) is holding a Gymkhana 'training day' at the Eastern Creek Skidpan (wet) this Sunday, and we have a few spots left to fill for the event.

If you could perhaps circulate this to your members, or maybe just let the keen motorkhana drivers know, that will help us get the most out of the day.

It is only $75 to enter, but entrants need a CAMS L2 licence and CAMS club membership (or we will have L1 day licences available for $25).

We have an exciting afternoon session, using the whole skid pan for a single test!!!
This might be enough to tempt some keen 'khana drivers itself!

More details are here: http://www.jscc.asn.au or please contact me by email for further details,

Regards,

David Hinitt

Good event, not as good as dry Tarmac, but good wet weather practice.

The Zohan kept those evos and rexies honest!
Went along thinking I could help some noobs, ended up re training myself on going easy on the throttle. On their final test, the dori dori, I had 4 runs each run a second faster than the prior!

Well done to JSCC for a well run event, and to the mx5ers who did a great job!

Yep, was a good fun day as a first timer at this sort of event.
Would recommend to anyone, especially track guys that have never done one, totally different experience to the track.
Oh, and you don't need a helmet, thats for fully open cars, ie no windscreen.

Had a decent amount of runs. 13 I think, although I got lost in 3 of them :)
I even taped my handbrake button in before I started, but never used it, as you are so busy on the steering!!!
Very glad I brought the MX-5 as I was considering taking the boat Falcon for its long first gear and Mechanical LSD. Judging by the Soarer there, it would have been a handful.

Also did very minimal tyre wear, pretty much started with 300km old Kumho Ku 31's, and I can still read the Kumho logo in the centre rib, which is really shallow to begin with.

Well done to the JSCC for a well run event.

And nice meeeting you Scotty.

Went for a SEE as my 3 year old says. Looked like a good day only watched the last hour or so but was wishing I was out there. Amali liked the RED ones Cos Red ones go faster. The MX5s seemed to be holding there own especialy against some of the other guys that were just pushing too hard.

Good to meet you too Luke,

Mr2: there were a few crazys out there. But best they vent on the skid pan rather than maccas car park  the barrels made people pull their head in a bit, should have seen it when it was all witches hats, it was like skittles at times! :P
