Agreed, nice bit of driving Scotty. Now if only you spun around I may have got a look in.
Is that a 6 speed box in your car?

Should note, I was only in the pits over the weekend, still going through log booking and all that before my car emerges. Scotty Walker has been a friend of mine for years, and bought his car about the same time as me. But his was ready to go
So lets go!

Hi John and Quickie,

According to the FOSC email, it will be run under AASA so I am figuring that a AASA licence is all that is required!

Not sure about the class thing, it's been a while since I did a FoSC meeting but usually they lump all the sports cars in together and then separate out groups with similar lap times... I have raced at Oran Park with older Porsches, a GT40 replica, MGs, Healeys, and even some Alfas... Its all about the fun of good clean racing.

Touch another car and you both go home..

Thinking of doing the Nov 25th event, trying to see what I have to do to get my ducks in a row.

Can anyone confirm: from what I can see, requirements for MRA events are:

MRA entry form (from July) states:
AASA licence
AASA vehicle logbook (passport)
rollover protection
'approved' clothing

AASA 'National Competition Rules' require:
harness
pit crew to have 2kg fire ext each
helmet
racing suit, gloves and footwear

I don't see anything regarding bonnet pins, kill switch, or extinguisher for the car.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

All you need to run is,

An mx5,

aasa license, aasa logbook, aproved clothing suit, glove, helmet, balaclava.

Bonnet pins (secondry latching device) , kill switch, roll bar (cams approved) harness.

Fire extinguiser is now optional (both cams and aasa) better to have one though.

Cams stickers to show batt location and kill switch location.

Brake lights to be working.

Aasa is very relaxed.!!!

Hope this helps. kind regards

Thanks motomenace.

I went through their National Tarmac rules and there is no mention of the bonnet pins or kill-switch but I couldn't see how they would not be required.

They definitely seem more relaxed than Cams.

I have the others, I just need the pins, kill switch and licence. Better get busy.

I wont be at that round sadly. infact I dont think I'll be at the track for the rest of 2012. one income + family + mortgage starts to hurt the wallet!

if off the track might try and do some mods.....cash depending haha...and get it ready for 2013
