I have posted an entry in as I haven't run my current car at EC and want to see what it can do on the traditional layout (even if there is a slight change to the track).

Do I need to be a ARDC or mx5 club member to enter? I'm part of the jag club and do CSCA events, (even tho I run an mx5).. Is that fine? If so I will most likely enter

As long as you belong to any CAMS affiliated club and have a CAMS Level 2S license or higher you can enter.

To be eligible to score points in the State Supersprint championship you also need to be registered for that series, but don't have to be registered to enter the event.

Paperwork received from ARDC. You're on the list Luke ... car 113. There are 13 MX-5s by my quick count, including the regular names and a few new ones.

Shame on you mentioning the "R" word!  Don't worry, I've spoken with God (aka Mike Hicks) and he says it will be dry. Mike's had a fantastic record of predicting the absence of rain when the BOM says otherwise. 8) A few years ago, I fronted up at Eastern Creek when the forecast was 99% chance of rain - so my cunning plan was to arrive with street tyres. It was dry all day!

It'll be great to meet you tomorrow. Don't be shy introducing yourself if we don't find you first.

I haven't dríven the main circuit at EC since November last year. Definitely looking forward to it. Will be interesting to see how the realignment of turns 6/7 into one turn will affect this section of the track.

Awesome, so you are running on street tyres to make sure it doesnt rain.. thanks :)
What time do people usually arrive, Supp regs said driver briefing at like 8:15 which seems quite early to me, CSCA is usually 845-9ish.

Guess ill aim for 730ish and hopefully grab one of the covered spots, since i wasnt paying extra for pit garages.

Most arrive between 7:00 and 7:30. 8:15 for driver briefing is earlier than usual - they must be trying to get an early start on track. If it means more track time for us, I'm all for it!

Well that was an interesting weekend. Surprised we actually got 5 sessions in, as the day seemed to be going at a snails pace.

I went through the gravel trap on the 2nd last corner in the first session, and again on the last lap of the last session.
Did some nice paint stripping on the bottom edges of the car below the doors where all the rocks throw up and on the front lip.
See attached of the type of rocks in that gravel trap(got some from under the car), they are sharp and look like railway line gravel. Yet it is still hard to drive out of it.

Had brake vibrations again due to to much heat, which I have been posting about in the wheel/tyre/suspension/brake area.

Results are all up of course.

And, GRRR, Russel pipped me in the last session after trying to chase me all day.

I'm happy with a 1:54.3453, on road tyres KU36 and hot brakes.

Fastest MX-5 was Ralph of course: 1:51.3624

We are ahead as a club as well on 401 points.
Nearest is ARDC on 340.
NSW RRC is off the radar.

Edit:
Oh yeah, and see ya's at the next round on the extended track. Should be interesting with the mixture of wide fast track, and slow twisty track.

I’m in for Round 5 on August 12. :D

Originally it was listed as the North Circuit but now it’s the Main Circuit, taking in the new extension. 8)

Should be a lot of fun, provided my new rotors arrive in time.

If you want to join in for a garage contact Stewart, as per normal.

Yep, the remaining rounds are ...

Round 5 - 12th August - Eastern Creek Long Circuit (ARDC)
Round 6 - 26th August - Wakefield Park (Mini)
Round 7 - 16th September - Eastern Creek South Circuit (NSWRRC)
Round 8 - 28th October - Eastern Creek North Circuit (ARDC)

I'm intending to do all four of them, and already paid up for the next one. Really keen to try out the extension at EC. :D

NSWRRC had better not gouge us again with pricing for the penultimate round. :x

I've been told by some people "in the know" that effectively there are very few overtaking opportunities on the new southern part of the circuit and that racing will become very processional through this portion.

I'll be keen to see how this works when using both the extended circuit and the stand alone southern circuit. It looks as though the southern circuit will have bugger all in the way of straights, so potentially most overtaking will have to be done under brakes.
