Pics of car 29 please? :D

Also, I don't think an extra 1 or 2 laps would hurt concentration or the car.

Also agree on the fish hook timing gate, is it placed there since its easier to time? On the odd occasion where someone has a spin there, it spoils a couple of laps.

Thank you for the photos. My partner took some video footage, and recorded my embarrassing moment of the day....(she also forgot sound was on).

Timing from the fishhook is necessary because of the manual timing system the club uses. The start/finish line needs to be in line with the view from the timing window and allow the timers to see the door numbers as the cars approach the line. This is not possible on the main straight and the only place to have it is in the fishhook. If you don't want to stuff up two laps, the answer is simple: don't spin in the fishhook.

Running longer than the 6 minute runs would mean that you get fewer runs during the day and you would be waiting longer between runs. It doesn't have a big impact on the total number of laps you get. That's how it is when you've got nearly 80 drivers wanting to get the most track time out of their day. Personally, I think the current system provides a good compromise.

BTW, no-one has mentioned it yet ... BIG THANK YOU to Jean Cook for an excellent job on Sunday, serving as Clerk of Course for her first time!!! 8)

Since it has been mentioned, about manual timing etc. Would it be worthwhile the mx5 club of NSW investing in some timing devices that are placed into the vehicle similar to Natsoft? The club has enough dosh in the kitty to accommodate these changes if it was well received.

Thoughts?

Luke wrote:If you want to learn the track better with longer sessions, I sugest you attend a Speed off the Streets day on a weekday.
On a weekday few people show up as long as a big group hasn't organised something.
You will get a 20 minute session pretty much every hour.
I found it vaulable to do one of these since you have no pressure of trying to achieve times, so you can try things you would never do on a club trackday.

If you post something in this forum, you may even get some people interested in wanting to go down as well.

I am definitely keen. I have heard some horror stories about these but also hear the week days are quieter. I DEFINITELY want some more track time, and would be great to do it with a few mx5's. Be good to have more time to experiment and hopefully progress up the learning curve.

Anyone interested?

Any pics of Number 1 red NA6 with hardtop would be appreciated. There may be some good ones coming onto the main straight.

Yes, thanks to Jean for her first effort.
