So who's coming tommorow to Wakefield Park???

I got my confirmation email 2 weeks ago.

Hope to see you's there. I think my Dad volunteered to be an official some where on the grid as well.

8 Runs in total.
Thats with starting at 9:30 and finishing all up at 3:45, with a couple of breakdown stopages.

All you need is good grid organistation.

Any way finally a 1'11.
1'11.9987 to be exact. Odly, no times are up on the Natsoft website??? Didn't know V8 Supercars took that much priority.

Natsoft now up.

New pb for me today 1.14.4333 (down from previous Dorian timed 1.14.62) which was set on the last run after the track was oiled up by a clubman. Ended up 1st in 3A, so good club points.

Only a small field (52 ?) so dissappointing for the Mini club, but meant 8 runs for us.

A good day for "Britney" and the R888s are now coming in after 4 events. However Bryan cannot get his R888s to work with a standard suspension, so much brainstorming to find a cause.

Now to watch MotoGP, but without Casey Stoner - bad luck for him in his final year.

Congratulations Peter on your time.

I missed the event due to a mate's big birthday the night before. There was no way I could have dríven down on Sunday morning. Too tired  .

It turned out to be a very good result for the club too. MX5 78 pts, ARDC 62, NSWRRC 54.

Bob Welch wrote:MX5 remain the leaders of the Club Championship topping the Club points scored on the day as well as for the year. They are on 578 points well ahead of ARDC on 490 points with NSWRRC in third place on 368 points.

Average speed for me was 110.0 km/h with the official time of 1'11.999.
Now thats some cool numbers.

Anyway, when I sent my entry form in for the next round at Sydney Motorsport Park South I asked this:
PS, is there any update, if the pit lane and some form of parking will be ready in 3 weeks?
And got this back:
There will be parking for competitors on a cement slab on the right as you come in gate 7.

So I gather that means no under cover parking.
So bring less tools and replace with an unbrella is what I translate that to.
Or better yet, bring your own shed/tent.

Paid and entered for the last two rounds. Still getting overcharged by NSWRRC and ARDC for only half a track and subsidising their club members!

My view (for what it's worth) is that due to the nature of the track exceptional organisational skills will be required to successfully run a supersprint on the South Circuit. Alas, NSWRRC does not have my confidence in that regard. This is aside from the fact that facilities have not yet been fully completed and that it's essentially a brand new circuit. Therefore no one has their operational processes and procedures bedded in yet.

I'll sit this one out and will probably enter the Inter-club supersprint held on the same day on the North Circuit. This will mean that I have entered events in the State Series, CSCA Series and the Inter-club series this year, so the comparison will be interesting.

Hi guys

Question if you can help re tyres: the Supersprint Vehicle Type Regs for Type 2 only says that 'road tyres' are to be used.

Do the specific tyres have to comply with the list of tyres as per Cams Manual Schedule E / Production (page 57 I think it is)?

Confused..... :?

Thanks!

Yep, road tyres as defined in Schedule E of the CAMS Manual. The idea is that this list is the "maximum" that you can use. Normal street tyres can be used even if they're not on this list. But slicks and Kumho V710 etc are not permitted.

Thanks Bryan. I plan on getting some yoko a050's but may not have them by the 13th (want more time working on the driver before I change too much on the car :) )

Do B'stone RE002's count as road tyres, I presume so....?

So, yes.....it is going to be pretty hectic on the 16th at the South Circuit. Just a large asphalt area, portaloos etc. No problem if the weather is ok. Today it was blowing a gale and - as there is no where to stash gear - you had to be careful to weigh everything down so it didn't blow away. It is going to be real interesting if it is windy AND wet (let alone on the track!). Bring tarps everyone if it looks as though it will be wet.

Fun track though. Couple of hills in there, certainly tight.
