sorry my mistake the top pic is standard knuckle vs new modified style.

Finally fitted the No pro washer bottle that i bought ages ago off a member of this forum.

Image

the original washer bottle actually had semi melted at the side that was closest to the turbo.

I have a new helper !

The original flare was about 25-30mm, with the new metal flares welded on i would say the front guards are 40mm out from standard.

Yep they smell and bite, no different to a puppy, and everybody loves puppies!

Our ferretts nicknamed puppy. His real name is Eric.

mine was primarily used for ripping the heads off rabbit kittens so it didn't make a very good pet unfortunately.

They are hunters naturally and then were domesticated as hunters, thats how it is, keep away from pets smaller than a cat spend lots of time playing with them.

Its like having a Kelpie and not walking and running it, you just cant keep that pet that way.

Ha ha yeah stinky and bitey is true.....though have trained it not to bite. Had it desexed and that made a massive difference to the smell.
They love exploring everything and knocking over every drink you leave sitting around.

a major part of the extra lock kit on the car is these....modified tie rod ends. The kink simply prevents the tie rod from coming inline with the knuckles steering arm section.
Put simply prevents binding/ steering getting stuck at full lock.

Of corse its slower.......but man is it fun. Not so much by yourself.....but when you coming down a straight in a battle and the car in front is 1meter directly in front  and your watching his shoulders to see the exact moment he jerks the wheel so the weight shifts to start his scando entry and you kick the clutch and mimic his movement as soon as you see his body move...... all of a sudden there is a mountain of tyre smoke pooring from the lead car, you cant even see the track anymore, the only way to know you going to stay on track is to stay on his door! (if he comes in to hot and you both slide off track with him leading usually he will lose that battle ). If you make it through the first corner and direction switch time comes, you need to anticipate when he will switch and ease off throttle to 80% so your slide slows just enough to drop you back and you can switch just as he dose and your heart stops as his rear pumper swings past the front of your car so close you think for sure it is gunna take off your front bumper.....stab the throttle again before your heart even starts up again and he hasn't even finished the switch  or you'll drop a car length and it will be over for you if that happens  If your still on his door at the second corner then you have it in the bag!

Im not good....im lucky if i last 3 battles at a comp (comps are usually a top 16 meaning u battle 8 times to win). so i only get to experience that moment maybe 6 times a year

Its a different sport because you only have 3-4 corners to win and only one chance to get it right. 30-40 seconds and no mistakes.....or force the other guy to make one (americans have to run a brake light on the front now so judges can see if the lead car is over braking and forcing the trailing car to grip up).

Im not slow at a sprint day either and i enjoy the grip days as they help me understand high speed lines and help set the car up for better grip which is becoming more and more important at drift comps.

Been a while since i updated my thread.

Drift has been getting faster and faster , especially on the fast open aussie tracks.

Unfortunately the last two times an ambulance has been called to Winton for a Drift crash has been for passengers :?

So the Victorian Drift club has made it mandatory to have a minimum half cage built to CAMS specs if you want to Drift with passengers in your car or Drift in tandem with other cars.

So ive been working on my NB , building a cage to make sure that if one of those big 4 door toyota's comes into my passenger door, then i know they will be safe.

Image

All the notching and bending takes so many hours..... its rather frustrating. But eventually it comes together.

Image

Its easy to get carried away adding bar after bar....just because you are doing it at the time..... but this tube isn't the lightest stuff in the world

Its not finished yet.....

Looking good Waz, such an inspiration to improve my fabrication skills.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
