Yep by 0.25 seconds. Guess a combination of 2.5 litres, 9" wheels, 4.1 diff, etc, etc, had something to do with that. He did spin thought trying to stick with the Michelin's through 4 & 5.

Yea, I had Daniel beating me up after the event as I delayed the flash until after NatMeet.
As the old saying goes, "No used closing the gate after the horse has bolted". :roll:

So back to the original road tyre query, after John's, NC's on Michelins finished 2nd, 3rd & 4th in the modified class (KU36 5th) and 1st in stock class.

Hi all,

Well Im giving some new design Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5 tyres 195/50/15 82W ago. Also as my daughters Rio takes the same size tyre with her mags so i am putting on her car Kumho KU31 195/50/15/82w . If the Goodyears dont perform I will put the Kumhos on the MX5.....

Hi all,

I had fitted on saturday a set of KU31 195/50/15/82V to my MX5. first real test out on sunday on club run and totally different car to drive. Not saying bad or good, but after having Goodyear F1 D3s on and getting low i did have a quieter ride but felt so different to the old. It was like driving all over the place and just suppose they need to wear in if thats correct to say. see what happens of next few runs and there performance........

Typical of all new tyres. If you're running some negative camber then at this moment the tyres are running on the inside portion of the tread. Give them a few hundred kilometres and this and the mould release liquid will wear off them and they'll be fine.

Could be from having the alignment changed, if they dialed in more toe out. :roll:
