Hope the Boss gives me the week off to attend. Might pay to give him a ring, Zero before he retires on December 7, 2012.

Kev05

If he don't let me know, the Minister is a few floors above me! If he don't then next time he's in the lift I will push every button to slow the damn thing down!!

Haha, that happened one day, the lift stopped and i jumped in, the guy said 'you in a hurry?' I said 'Yea, got a train to catch' - so the lovely man pushed EVERY button from my level down! Geez I felt like kicking the as*hole in the ankle!!

See you tomorrow Kev

It's getting closer!!

Now only 26 days to Lakeside, the final round of this years Club Championship

Don't forget to pay on or before Monday 12 November to get the BEST entry fee, discounted for those who pay two weeks or more prior

Don't forget to pack your 'transponder' into your kit and grab a few cable ties as well

Don't forget to have your car checked over prior to make sure all is well, either you can do it or you can take it to one of our sponsors MX5 Plus/Automotive Plus at Zillmere

Don't forget, for those who still work, to make sure you have the day off - not good to try and ring in for a 'sickie' and find NO mobile phone coverage!! [Not that anyone would do that!!]

And finally Don't forget if there is any question, no matter how simple it may seem, make a post here and I am sure you will get a quick response

Looking forward to catching up with everyone on the day

Hey guys, im relatively new to the forum and I'm keen to enter into this event but i haven't been able to contact any of the coordinators from the mx5 club, so i figured i should just ask here.
Just wondering what exactly is required. I'm not a club member as of yet and I don't have a cams license. Am i able to just turn up on the day and buy a day license and go from there?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers, Ben

You didn't try me. You don't need a CAMS licence nor to be a member. The entry fee is cheaper if you are a member.

All the information is on the club website at this link: http://www.mx5clubqld.com.au/?page_id=51

You just need:

a roadworthy car
helmet
long clothes
closed in shoes
CTP insurance motor sport extension certificate - free or $10 depending on your insurer
pay the entry fee - the price varies depending on when you pay and if you are a member
get a AASA licence - $20 on the day or $55 for one calendar year - application form is on the club website
timing transponder - $25/day hire or buy for $80
complete a General Testing form - available from the club website
complete a club indemnity form - available from the club website

What else would you like to know :?:

This may appear to some to be a 'silly' post but for those that haven't run before, the CTP insurer is the one that appears on your registration papers

Simply ring them, ask for a 'CTP Extension' for November 26th and go from there!!

Any questions Ben someone will fire an answer back!! Not sure if you have been to Lakeside before but tomorrow [Saturday] there is Practice and a Sprint Meet, no charge to go and watch and familiarise yourself with the track - you won't be allowed to drive around but you will see what it's all about

I will be there, so if you go and spot a silver MX5, either NA or NB call me up!! Not sure which one I will take

ONLY 3 WEEKS TO GO

Allthough you can pay the entry fee on the day, try and get in before Monday 12 November next to get the best price

Oh!! So you haven't got an MX5? Doesn't matter!! If you have the requirements like helmet etc then come along, you will be made welcome as we do have quite a few 'other makes' join in with us!! For example: Lexus IS300, Corolla GTi, Toyota Celica, Opel Astra just to name a few

Maybe you're not that quick and just want to cruise along at your own pace? That's fine too, cars are grouped according to lap times, the slower cars in the last group!!

So for a fun day, read back thru the last page or so, all details have been provided - any questions, make aa post here for assistance

SEE YOU THERE :!:

No matter what it's like so long as it's a fun day and everyone drives to their ability!!

Magpie, sorry to hear that you can't make it after all the work you have done to the NA, still next year GAAME ON for you!!

I just hope Charlie still has his next year as the plan is to do a swap for a few gentle laps and swap notes :) All I have to do to my NA is get the engine swap done then it is over and I can enjoy it! However then I'll more than likely going to concentrate on getting the Fiat X19 restored (no mods just setup as a classic racer).
