Just back from the South Circuit. Good news is the ground floor of the control tower is pretty much completed. Toilets done, carpeted etc. Even heating (and much appreciated today!)
Still no other cover outside though, garages/carports have not been started.

Sent Mike an email, also confirming my availability here for Flag-person on the day. Going to have to give the driving a miss this time around though, too many things I need to do to my car and not enough money or time remains until the event
I'm sure it will be a heap of fun regardless, see ya's on the day

Do I have to use theirs or can I use my own? Also.. I know it's a smart idea to use tape on the magnets so they don't fall off.. Is there tape at the track or should track down my own?
There's normally tape at the track but there's an abundance of tape with the other drivers, you have to tape the front and top edges at least. Give the doors a polish the day before and quick cut back the day after, if you're short of tape come and hunt me down (#9).
As for your own numbers - check the CAMS regs. Probably legit if you meet their standards but Guran, Hammer and Charlie Brown would know better.

Guys if you have one of those pop up gazebo/canopy shelters it is a good idea to bring it along, specially if its a hot day.
We where there a few weeks ago and it was warmish and they people who had those where loving them, since there is no garages there yet. And you have extra cover if it rains or anything.

The weather forecast was revised today from chance of afternoon showers to mostly sunny for the whole day.
Has anyone received their papers yet or should we be expecting that later in the week?

Great news about the weather forecast!
No papers yet. You're not the only one.

Yeah, I just realised that I haven't received any paperwork. I hope they'll come anytime soon.

Club AGM on tomorrow evening.
I'd suggest that the crew are busy getting that organised.

Keep an eye on your mail box...paper work coming later this week I am told. As Rob says, the AGM is on tonight...so that will be occupying a lot of time and effort I should think.

The allocated numbers are shown on the grid sheet, which all drivers should also print out.

Saturday the 27th October is our first club track day on the South Circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park formerly Eastern Creek. If it is a successful day it won't be the last. However to conduct events on the South circuit we need to man a minimum of 5 flag points to ensure safety for the entrants.
Could any members who would be prepared to man a flag point for the day or alternately the morning or afternoon could you please contact Mike Hicks on 9894 9167 or 0419 201 588 or by email at cob_mik@bigpond.net.au You will be suitably briefed prior to being posted and will be provided with lunch and drinks. All the flag points have adequate sun protection. By Assisting on the day you can become a General CAMS Official. If you wish to see the track action close up there is no better place than on a flag point.
Being our first Track Day in Sydney I would hope that this event will attract good support from the members either as officials or spectators.
Could be worth a go for anyone keen. You will be right up close to the action and get some experience too. Flagging days are a bit of fun and it is all pretty relaxed so a good way to get started if you have no experience. Everyone is very friendly and will be glad to see you getting involved - and you get a free lunch and drinks!!
Any questions give Mike a call on 9894 9167 or 0419 201 588 or by email at cob_mik@bigpond.net.au
If someone can tell this track newbie where to go? When to get there? And what to do then I might be able to make it there this Sat to be a flag bearer.
P.S. would have to have some time in between to take photos as well but that's secondary.

"To enter Sydney Motorsport Park you will need to enter Gate 7 at the southern side of the property. As you enter the property you will see the Control tower on your right."
(quoted from an email from Mike)
My son Jay will be along to help also, please be kind to him.
