Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Ufortunately I won't make the final two state rounds due to family commitments, so will have to surrender my chance at a class win.
Have fun all, the South Circuit looks like fun for a MX5. I watched the muscle cars go round it last weekend and big horsepower and little traction seemed to make for a very entertaining time for them.

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Looking forward to Sunday for our first supersprint on the new South Circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park (Eastern Creek)
. The weather forecast is looking good: mostly sunny, light winds east to northeasterly, 5°C to 24°C
. Showers are expected to arrive on Monday so hopefully they don't blow in sooner. It won't be very pleasant if it rains - no shelter in the new pit area yet.

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Hey guys - all ready for my first round, car is all prepped. The only thing I am not clear on is shoes: how strict are they? I have leather shoes, suspect the tongue may be synthetic.
Will they pick up on this?
Thanks.

It depends how picky the scrutineers are when you get to them.
Most likely you will be perfectly fine. I've seen some guys wearing Boat shoes!
Just make sure everything else is good with your car (triangle, extinguisher, overall running condition) and you are presentable, and you should go through OK.

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Poorly run day by NSW RRC, again....
Only 4 runs, with lots of delays and waiting around.
Some groups were going out with 4-5 cars, they did not bunch up cars, and kept running 10 groups all day!!!
Now for some info for those who may want to know.
I was quicker with my rear sway bar disconnected.
1:07.2815 with it on.
1:06.6329 with it off.
Main reason was simply more traction and less side ways action out of all the sharp corners.
Something worth considering for guys out there with standard Suspension, with a bit of power and road tyres.
Ralph was the quickest MX-5 again, as per the norm.
1:04.3334
And Bob already updated the point score and results.
ARDC really close to MX-5 Club now.
I can see Bryan did a mega one off time in is NA.
1:08.7643, next fastest being 1:09.1987
I think we need to define what "track" means lol.
You got a vid of that lap Bryan??? It will be intersting to see what lines you took, or created.

Agreed! Only four runs of five laps each on such a small track was pathetic. Must admit though that I was expecting today to be a bit of a shambles ... and wasn't disappointed in that regard. Ah well, at least we had plenty of time to catch some rays and have a yack. Gorgeous weather today!

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Agreed. 4 runs for possibly a tad over 30 minutes of track time - with 9 hours spent at the track. Not great.
Nonetheless - I had a blast, thanks again for the help fellas.
And happy to contribute 8 points to the club tally lol !

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Only one round to go and the MX-5 Club is holding a slender lead in the Club Championship. We're sitting on 650 points and ARDC is second on 607 points. To take the title, we need a strong turnout of MX-5 Club members at the final round on Sunday 28th October at Sydney Motorsport Park GP North Circuit. At the previous North Circuit round on 21st April, ARDC picked up 46 points more than MX-5 Club. If they repeat that, ARDC will pip us to the Club Championship ... and we can't have that! I know a lot of you blokes avoid the NSWRRC rounds but this one is run by ARDC. So, please enter and help our great club win the Championship for a record-equalling 8th time. Who's in? I am!

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Nope it's a doubleheader. Club trackday on South circuit Saturday. Supersprint on North circuit Sunday. Many of us are doing both days.

I was dead tired. Thought I edited but must have fallen asleep.
Double header sounds interesting! I hope the weekends kind to us all.

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
So I would imagine there will be a big turnout for this Sunday given it takes in the main straight ? (compared to Sth Circuit)
Hope ARDC is more efficient than NSWRRC.

Re: 2012 NSW Supersprint Championship
Great day yesterday, perfect weather.
168km the average speed of the fastest car on the day! Wow. Andrie Tan in a Radical. Fastest lap just in the 59s's.
Also very impressed at the turnout of mighty MXers, nothing but in 2B.
