first set of 15x10 in Australia? They look fantastic. Any idea on the tyre you will run? Hoosier?

These are not the first. Maybe first shipment. And last for the foreseeable future.
I can get 275 Hoosiers, or 245 avons. Might just get some R6 Hoosiers first. Depends on the time attack rules. I know they are not on the list from last year.

The 235/50/15 would be good if I want it to look like a 4wd. They would be pretty tall.

According to their facebook page the World Time Attack Challenge rules for 2013 will be out tomorrow. Is this the event you are targeting?

Sounds like you need to be buying yourself some Yokohamas if you want to play at Time Attack now......

Yeah Ben....without that rule there wasn't going to be a WTAC 2013 event.

Cheers,
Danny

It's a pity.. While it does help create a level playing field undoubtably it was based around the continuing profitability of the event not the sporting factor.. But if faced with either a control tyre event or the major sponsor and huge supporter of the sport pulling out and no event you'd always pick running the event..

But I'm not a fan of control tyres in any motor sport, particularly this kind of level where there is relevance to the consumer. F1 tyres have no relevance to what you or I can buy... But here it added another layer with relevance to the punter.. Last year it was interesting to see Yokohamas, Hankooks, Dunlops, Bridgestones, Toyos and Federals all competing. In Dave's case if he wants to run at time attack using 15s there is no size choice other than a 205/50/15 or a 225/50/15 and nothing wider than 225 until go up to 17s...

I will have to work out what to do with tyres. Everything is going to be too tall no matter if I do 15 or 17 inch.

Looks like the only option is to run the 225/50/15. I am going to get some 2nd hand ones shortly and see how they fit on the 10's. Otherwise i will use the 9's.
I will still buy some 275 hoosiers for track days to give them a try.

I have put the red car back to near stock. It just has the B.C coilovers, front swaybar, exhaust. And the compulsory seat, harness and rollbar. Also gave it a full service, all fluids, mazda speed engine mounts, etc. And it has only just had the brake rotors and pads done last time. So it is all set to enter standard class in victorian super sprint, and modified in the mx5 club vic.

They come from bris. It's like a nevco. Drops down almost flat.
