Re: 2013 NSW Supersprint Championship
Registered in Type 3A in Britney as number 115 again.
I will run the Wakefield Park rounds and selected Sydney rounds. I will try to budget for the Nationals at Phillip Island as my main event for the year, which will mean skipping some Sydney rounds.
My retirees motorsport budget is a significantly diminished due to Britney repairs and a new Sparco seat, so the old R888s will have to soldier on for a few more events.
I will run at least once on the North and South circuits to set a time at each (I will have to follow Bryan around to get an idea of the lines).

Well the NB race car has a deposit on it, so I thought I might have a run in this Championship in the NC
Charlie Brown, do our cars fit in 2B? The way the rules read, they mention road legal tyres (or similar language) does that include semi slicks?
This will definitely be a lot more cost effective than full racing...

Yes semis ok. The regs specify a list of acceptable rubber will post later unless someone else can.

Re: 2013 NSW Supersprint Championship
Just registered for round 1 on March 24th. I'll be running in class 2B in a standard NB8B with a set of coilovers, r-specs, and hopefully a bit of talent behind the wheel. As a first timer, any advise will be very welcome.

Re: 2013 NSW Supersprint Championship
Looking forward to seeing all these new faces at supersprints. Don't forget to nominate the MX-5 Club when you send in your championship entry form! We tend to congregate together at each event and plenty of coaching goes on. We also book a block of garages at SMP for the GP, Extended and Long circuits - will make sure all the new people are included in the loop. BTW please let Mike Hicks know that you're running this year.
Col, the tyre list is here:

Is your NC road registered and modified? If so your choices are class 2B or class SVB depending on your modifications. You'll need to check the vehicles regs for details. You're also eligible for 3B or 4B but those guys tend to have very serious track cars.

Re: 2013 NSW Supersprint Championship
The tyre list has the fastest / stickiest tyres that you're allowed to use. Anything less is obviously acceptable. That means you can use any run-of-the-mill street tyre or "S-spec" tyre. Yes KU36 is fine. But you'll be slower than with R-specs ... which is why they list doesn't bother with them.

Yep, I used them all last season and will still be using them this season until they are bald.
Also, just sent my entry form in yesterday for Round 1.

Re: 2013 NSW Supersprint Championship
Received confirmation that I'm registered as number 30, same number I've been using in the club trackdays. Yay!
Quick question: Are we provided with magnetic numbers, similar to what we get for the club trackdays, or should I arrange my own numbers?
Thanks!

Re: 2013 NSW Supersprint Championship
You'll need your own numbers, Gus. If you've got the same number for club days then it's well worth buying a magnetic sheet and mounting them on that.

Re: 2013 NSW Supersprint Championship
The benefit if entering for the championship - as opposed to for that round - is that you get to keep a number for the season. Hence how the green machine became # 98 and remains that way.

Re: 2013 NSW Supersprint Championship
Gus, you should be able to borrow the club numbers. Send an email to Mike but be prepared for a couple weeks delay as he's away at the moment.

Re: 2013 NSW Supersprint Championship
I bought for hill climb champs magnetic a4 heavy duty sheets from eBay for $15 for 3 delivered.
Then office works to print my number and laminate for $1.80 each.
The a4 magnetic sheets have a sticky front to attach the laminated numbers.
So far has worked a charm at 2 events and dirt cheap.
