Cheers D Dog.

Stickers fitted, really stands out on a grey car.

Not worried they may draw too much unwanted attention from the Blue Boys?

I think of Van Halen's "5150" album when I see "Maniac" - "5150" is the US police code for "Maniac on the loose" (that's a real blast from the past).

"Sticker Theory" indicates that they'll be worth an additional 5 killer-wasps at least :P

Not worried about the blue boys, I had the same car not see me three times today with my headlights on...

"Sticker Theory" also dictates that I have an additional 10kw in the boot, with more to follow.

Found stickers on eBay for most of the other bits, so many more "stickerwatts" to come!

Also ripped out the Adaptronic today and switched the VTCS control jumper back to factory, and hey presto, car idles as it should, doesn't oscillate, miss under electrical load, clatter on startup or stall when the clutch is released when cold. Much happier camper!

It's been documented in other forums, but I'm firmly in agreement with others who have done this that this is a great solution.

From Andy (@Adaptronic):

"The VTCS (Variable Tumble Control System) is a flap in the intake, it causes the air to tumble into the intake ports instead of flowing in a laminar fashion. This reduces power in the top end, but in the low end it increases the fuel-air mixing. When I was tuning on an SE, I found it wanted to be on below 3000 RPM and below 80 kPa MAP. At full throttle it didn't want to be on, but at part throttle, I could use less fuel to get to stoich."

MAZDA spent a lot of effort getting this right so it wasn't a bad idea by Lassi at mazda-speed.com to let the factory ECU handle it, especially when it seems to cause a lot of issues with aftermarket ECU tuning and the factory ECU already does this well.

That explains a lot. Having switched over, the car isn't as responsive from 6000 RPM to the 7200 redline, and there's a hesitation/lean spot right around 6000 which it doesn't seem to recover from up from there.

Have you got the E420C with the plug-in loom? You might want to check the injector phasing:
http://adaptronic.com.au/forum/index.ph ... 4#msg18144

I have found it helps with transient throttle tuning.

If you have the E420D (Select) then ignore this post. 8)

I have the SE specific Adaptronic which I believe is a Select one - I may be wrong though...

Finally, an update!!

With a lot of help from Lokiel - thanks so much! 8)

Before, sporting the trademark 4WD rear:

After - now it looks (and feels) like a sports car:

H&R Race springs on the stock Bilsteins. Feel like they're much better matched, car is far more planted and on the drive home it was a little firmer but not harsh like I was expecting.

Picked the car up yesterday from Impact having had the skirts fitted & painted. Good job done by Adrian & the team, I'm very happy.

Yup, how come the skirts seem to have lowered the car about an inch at the front and two inches at the rear?

Looks right now.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Cheers!

Rear actually didn't seen as high as the silver one was, but height was identical - "4WD" at the rear and "Camry" at the front.
