Whose car were you in Chris? Didn't recognise it as one of your cars.

Yep #33, its fresh off the boat from Japan that 1... we put some Carbotech pads in it and some old dunlop semis off the top shelf at the workshop and had a thrash around then put an ECUTek tune in it halfway through the day to see how much of a difference it made... will be turned into another racecar soon

Great day out there on a very enjoyable but technical circuit. Definitely a shame about Bob Pimm's off and I'd only just met him and had a good chat before that run about our little dual on the first run. Very well handled by the officials and club though, very professional.
I was disappointed to be towed off after the second run after lunch and thought it was probably wisest to call it a day. Great support from the community though and grateful to Daniel Deckers for having a quick chat about it. Thanks to Guy too for shadowing me on the way home.

Yeah saw his car that Regie. But didn't recognise it as one of the usual Deckspeed fleet

Hope you kept your pit crew big decks busy with the pressure gauge and cleaning windscreens.

Had a great day, took almost 2 secs out of my PB. Big thanks to Phil Munnings and Rob Taylor for helping me fix my exhaust after some bolts decided they had better things to do than hold it together.

It was fantastic to see all the MX-5s racing today. The wife really enjoyed looking at all the cars. She loved the NC with the metallic green colour. I can't believe how fast some of the cars were. My right hand was injured in the motorcycle accident I had so I can't bend my wrist. I would have loved to be able to race my NC1.
Sorry I missed you Regie. I must have just left before you arrived.
Were any of the NCs racing supercharged?

Yep that was my Dad's LE NC. Quite a rare colour, pain to keep clean though. I've only ever seen one other in that green and I believe he was competing on the North Circuit today, as I saw him go past on the access road.
Rob's Black LE NC is Supercharged. He had awesome luck, a flat, then no throttle, so times were pretty much non-existant.
I don't think there were any other NC's running that are Supercharged.

Can I just say from a flaggies perspective, it was a busy day! The drivers were for the most part very well behaved/courteous (one exception....).
From Flag point 9 there was plenty of action, we were positioned just before the downward off-camber left hander where you DON'T want to lift off in a hurry. I think we had 3 cars towed from below our position, 4 spinners on the lift off corner (been there done that
) and plenty of moments.
Hope Robert is doing ok.

An awesome day with perfect weather but Robert Pimm's accident unfortunate. I was the car behind him but some distance back so didn't see him spin. He'd just stopped when I got there. Very quick action by race control and flaggies and incident extremely well handled. As a first timer at the track I found it challenging. Initial two runs all over the shop but got in the groove by session three and found it most enjoyable. Controlling wheel spin out of the "fish hook" and up the hill around the following right hander is still a learning experience. Any advice appreciated although I am limited by an open diff I suspect. Any shots of car 41 Reggie?

If you have trouble with wheel spin try apexing the corner very late so that the car is nice and straight and not loading up one side on corner exit.

Good advice, that would help, I was sliding as I applied throttle so a later exit and straight drive would be better. Also struggled with my approach to T10 back up the hill before the fish hook - not sure whether I should approach it wider. How do you attack that one, Chris? By the way, my son who was flagging on start/finish gave you drive of the day; he specifically mentioned car #33 when we got home. Neil

I'm not 100% sure of the corner you mean, i think you are talking about going back up towards corporate hill? its all very confusing because the pits aren't on the main straight. With around the back it was my feeling that a fairly late apex was the best way to go because you can go nice and deep under brakes (really deep with the carbotech xp12s I had in the NC) and then get the car settled coming out of the corner approaching the next corner which around there they all lead into 1 another, so you essentially want to get as wide of an entry as you can to all of those corners and sacrifice a little on exit for the most part to set you up for the next wide entry. Having said that its hard to say for each car... the NC i was in had disgusting amounts of understeer so i was doing quite a bit of trail braking all day and flicking the car on the nose.
Tell him I said thanks and would agree with his assessment
