I've been going up the mountains since I got my L's and ive seen good drivers that i trust make simple mistakes....doesnt matter if its a supra, silvia or skyline..even monkeys fall from trees.but at the end of the day The mountains isnt somewhere you should be going 100% it's so unpredictable, animals running across the road, cars reversing out of their driveway, leaves on the road or people hiking too close to the road...
I sold my supra and stopped running up with those guys, they were just far too intense and every night it got out of hand...just a little faster, just a little faster..
Next time you hit that 180km speed cut, think about what's over the crest..

Haha! Serious? In what car! I heard the traffic is pretty hectic on most days

Road knowledge will make up for car control...at first
Once you know the road start to control the weight transition of the vehicle. Like where to let off the brakes before the corner, what gear to be in on the exit, (Rpms) and what might be around the next corner! The mx5 is pretty light so it's suuuuper flick-able around the twisties so sometimes the car will activate drift mode by accident!
Throttle control isn't too much of an issue,vI find I can just floor it through most corners...unless of course you're going down towards Samford. Up to the first hairpin is just pure dangerous then once you get over the bridge and before the traffic light theyre first gear/2nd gear corners with dereasing radius' (radii?). So engine braking is key. Use the rev range!

Time and place, wet road on Nebo at night, or anytime on Nebo, is not the time or place.
As much as I hate the hoon laws and how they could affect me with my cars, sorry but if I see you doing that where I and my family drive you will be dobbed in to plod for stupidity like that. I don't give a flying fig if your on a run with me on a friday night, if I saw you doing sh*t like that in front or behind me, I would be telling you why you are a hottie and telling you that plod is on his way to have a chat and hopefully take your car away.
Drifting all good, but go and do it at Willowbank, this is a huge part of why my hobby is under threat seeing pillocks doing this sh*t on a public road.

When we do the mountain run, we have fun, but we do it with sensibility and we come out the other side with our lives, our licenses, and our cars. If you don't respect Nebo & Glorious, they will get you in the end. Sh*t like that will only make it happen sooner. And posting a video like that on this thread only potentially makes targets out of us. As Matt said, It's dickheads like you putting our hobbies at risk. So basically take your sh*t elsewhere.
