Haha, Moog wants to put "Hermaphrodite" personalised plates on it. Love to see that. :)

Geez, you have to get in quick on this forum.

I had heard rumours that they were keen to do an MX-5, so this doesn't surprise me too much. It's also one of the best deals going for a cheap fun car, so they were bound to get on board eventually.

I'm so glad they didn't get an eBay manifold, and explained why they are a bad choice / bad area to save money on.

Al and Miles are absolute magicians.
they have done so many of conversions and turbo'd so many different engines that nothing is too hard for them.

A short list off the top of my head.

Toyota 5L V12 in to 1989 merc 190e.
Toyota 5L V12 with twin td06 20g turbos in to gen 3 liberty sedan and convert to rwd.
Toyota 1uzfe 4L V8 in to Volvo wagon + turbo
3L Subaru H6 boxer motor in to. Wrx body + turbo.
1uzfe in to hilux + turbo
2jzgte in to e30 BMW 318i
1jzgte in to s14 200sx
3sge Beams motor in to ke25 corolla.
his own car project is a ground up build of an old crown with 2jzgte.
2jzgte in to 635 csi BMW
Could go on but you get the message.

That one was thoroughly abused, judging on teh build thread. Used mainly for drawing 11's down the streets, until the boost killed the engine. I think they were all surprised how long it actually lasted.

They know their stuff, that's for sure.

I had read that Liberty V12 thread ages ago (shed skids, hehe) but had no idea it was the same person responsible for this. Turbo Yoda eh.

I think he has a VH45 in a VK comodore with twin turbos at some stage.

Current work is the 2J 635csi which is getting much more than just a motor transplant.

So what's the point of these builds? like a V12 liberty, I mean you can't legally drive these builds on the road, and if you want to build a race or drag car there are much smarter and better approaches that are tried and tested. If the point is just to prove it can be done; yeah anything can be done given the time and money. And they've proved the point already. I still don't get it.

Umm... the twin turbo V12 liberty was legal in QLD... and you'd be driving around in a twin turbo V12!!! What's not to get?
