Pretty good lines there Mitch. What car were you in? Smashing those ripple strips.
I could understand the directive for cars not to use the concrete strip coming out of turn 5 (given it puts you next to the dummy grid entrance to the track) but the reality this is the line most use, at all levels, and I see from the vids most were doing it anyway.

Thanks
They could definitely be tidied up in a few places just by looking at the video. I was in the blue NA6
Is turn 1 the first left hander going up the hill?

hmm turn 1? I was referring to the LH turn in front of the South Circuit Control tower, and assembly area. T5 on the 'big' circuit.

Hitting the concrete strip on the turn 5 exit was perfectly acceptable and is the faster way through this corner. We were instructed not to go beyond the concrete and put our tyres onto the pit lane exit. Fair enough.

that map has just resolved so much confusion for me hahaha... still such a ridiculous method of corner numbering.

Yes i recall in the briefing they were tolerating on the concrete but if you put wheels on the tar on the other side your time for that session wouldn't count... and realistically if you go beyond the concrete in most of the cars there you are losing time anyway.
