MX-5 Club Track Day - SMP South - 6th July 2013

Yes I will also be away on holidays with the family, so will sadly miss this one. Clutch also needs replacing - was slipping (and smelling) noticeably on the final run last month.

All members of the Mazda MX-5 Club of NSW are invited to attend the Annual Motorsport Trophy Presentation in the ARDC Garage cafe at the conclusion of this track day ... from around 5pm. A generous supply of finger food, sandwiches, rolls, wraps, etc will be provided by the Club as a thankyou to members who have supported our Club track days and officials who have made them possible. Trophies will be presented to all class pointscore winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) in addition to those who recorded fastest laps in their class, and fastest time of the day. Come along and help us celebrate the achievements of our motorsport people.

Furthermore, since this is the "first Saturday of the month" we'd like to invite all members for Coffee & Lies at Garage Cafe. Grab a coffee and a piece of cake, then wander over to the South Circuit to watch the MX-5 track action. Entry to the track is FREE and spectators are very welcome. Just head to Ferrers Road, Eastern Creek and enter via Gate A (turn left at the end - don't go straight ahead to the dragstrip).

Hi,

This will be my first track day under CAMS ruling and I've got a style car that has a third point which goes to the parcel shelf that isn't secured (bolted down), will i be better off taking it off so i dont get hassled for it?

We have lots of MX-5s running with style bars. Provided that there is nothing that can come loose and fly around in the cabin, you should not have any issue with the scrutineers.

I'm running, first MX5 track day for years, thought I had better have a run on SMP south before the FOSC in august.

Lou I have got one eye on the FOSC too. Been quite a while since I was on the Sth Circuit and the car - and driver

- has changed a bit. Looking forward to it.

70 cars entered with some VERY quick drivers returning to a Club day after a loooooong break.

I'm also heading out as a spectator with camera in tow. First club day I've missed since starting out this time last year so it might be hard to watch from the sidelines!
