I believe Goodwin have an Australian distributor and can only buy through them.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you think their postage costs are excessive, consider an US mail forwarder such as:

- ShipItTo
- Bongous
- MyUS
- ReShip
- ShipTronite

Apparently they've recently stopped international shipping. MX5 Mania is the Australian distributor.

Anywhere, just use a mail forwarder (so much for Johnny Howard's 'free trade agreement' in 04  )....

It seems pretty clear that Goodwin now use an agent ie conditions have changed. The sure way to find out is ring Goodwin for clarification.

Company I work for imports from the USA.
We have a supplier in California who is happy to include items from other suppliers with their shipments.
Only issue is I have to pay local freight from San Diego to Santa Fe and also for some reason I don't really understand why the California Sales Tax because shipment is not "out of state".
It still end ups being much cheaper than shipping separately.

interesting Pie. Most people do not understand inland freight but it can add a lot of money esp if the buyer does not realise distances and charges involved. Goodwin for example may sell on an ex works basis so getting the goods anyway beyond their gate is the buyers reap .If "your" forwarder had a local branch or can arrange pick up it gets easier but all these things take time to set up. Many sellers will not make special arrangements for buyers esp privateers as opposed to business' placing large orders. Consolidating shipments also requires a co who is used to doing these things and does it legally and reliably. When the goods arrive there are further complications. If someone has a mate in the area it might then be fairly easy to buy the goods and then ship direct but a lot of mucking around.
