Yeah I kinda delaminated the rear left tyre.... which was why that was also my last session of the day. That's what happens when you start the day on old bald tyres though. Car is amazing fun with boost, makes the entire circuit feels new. The car was spinning the rear wheels at only %10 throttle so it was a knife edge to get it to hook up at all in T8 and T10 especially....4.1 diff was surprisingly good still though, car had a gear for every corner and never ran out of revs.

As far as laptimes go I do remember seeing one lap logged at 1:07:88 on my DL1 datalogger but last hand-timed lap I saw was a low 1:08. I havn't been through the logs yet but it'll be interesting to see the peak lateral G's and see what conditions did to the cars grip... if this is normal then low boost may need to be lower.... I'm confident the car has a 1:06 in it on low boost already with just semi's and no aero. I was sooo rusty though... car will go much faster yet.

Thanks to all the officials, very tightly run day as usual and it was great catching up with a lot of people I havn't seen in a year.

So was this the first trackday where the turbo's were more reliable than the N/A cars?

Here's one of my runs from the day. Probably the most interesting.
Skidz at the end! 8)

As everyone else said, it took ages for tyres to come up to temp, even my street tyres.

My biggest disappointment on Monday was not being able to see Mark's car on track :( . Every time he was out there, I was waiting in the dummy grid for my run. It's great to have you back Mark! Supersprints in 2014? Or do you have other plans?

That will never happen. :D

Actually it looked like a pretty good day for reliability all round. All the problems I saw were fairly atypical and unrelated to mods, like Patrick's fan belt and the two sets of wheel bearings. Maybe the temps helped.

LOL
I will have to add some Failures to the list, from the Sunday Supersprint.
My front right rotor cracked.
My front Left lower caliper bolt is completely missing, most likely from the vibrations. Went to change the rotors and thought it was bit odd when I put the socket on nothing. I believe it may have fallen out on the way home when I got a odd rubbing sound from the Front left.
Still beat my fastest time though by 0.9s. :)
Oh yes, and that is on Turbo car. Sorry Mark.

Dad's NC, not a problem, other than Hawk HPS pads still overheat even on a freezing cold day!
By the time you get to lap 3 you have brake fade.
And some how even in the cold managed to beat my previous fastest by a bit to take it down to a 1'13.6x. Think there is still more time in it.

Your pretty lucky then Luke, I broke those bolts when there was two of them... with 90kw. So you very nearly repeated my incident of ripping a caliper off and putting it through the upper control arm and wheel...

Bryan no immediate plans as yet for the car other than some work. It was a rush job just to get it there on the day. I have to find a small coolant leak it has (it lost about 700ml in 5 sessions), install a bunch of datalogger sensors and setup the alarms so I can stop staring at the gauges... then actually give it a wheel alignment since I replaced the control arms and other bits due to the brake-explosion last year. Plus change the Trans/Diff fluids, heat shield the transmission, fix the windscreen and many many other odd jobs. I was just so keen to actually drive it on the track I probably ran it a little early.... I just knew it was going to be epicly fun and hoped it would survive this time

Finger crossed I'll be driving rather than flagging at the next club day though. When I have a tow-rig setup I'll look at doing some Mx5 Racing. Ideally when it gets the enduro fuel tank it'll do things like the Wakefield 300 again. The car did use 2/3rds of a tank from full in 5 sessions on low boost. So about a litre a lap...I think it was about 0.65 before. So it's a bit more expensive but better than I hoped.

Results are up on the Club website. 8) Sorry about the longer the usual delay in posting them. It took a while for Mike and Zan to thaw out!
