Best of luck with the car

About a year ago, one night after a date i was cruising home (topless [the car, not me haha]) by myself enjoying the night and open roads. I stopped at a set of lights and some kiwi just punched me square in the face and tried to steal my mx5, so i decided some acceleration and redlining would invite him to let go of my car...which he did...thank F%*K

I hope you were carrying some speed when he let go.

Insurance called today - the car is a write off.

They are actually paying out $1k MORE than I paid for the car 2 years ago, so pretty happy about that. That is market value.

Overall though, pretty sad...I loved that car. I might give them a call tomorrow to see if I am able to buy the non-repaired car off them.

Moving forward, I am taking my perfect 'on paper' MX5 for a test drive tomorrow. It's a red NC1 hardtop, so if it is all good, I'll probably end up buying it.

In a perfect world I would have had both cars. I never planned on getting rid of the NA.
