Standard rego on every car.
But, also every car has had slimline plates since the full sized ones look crap on anything smaller than a 626.
And the MX5 has black plates too.

.. mine's the standard rego plate too.. but it reads QNB 527
Well it's an NB and a 5.. so close enough..
.. wanted some personalised plates, but rather spend it on other mods or serviceable items.

You could be right
99% of personal plates are so personal only the owner knows what they are
Those Northeners, they are just so far behind.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

As much as I would like one (NB8B is available by the way), I could not bring myself to pay $440 every year to RTA(RMS).

I'm guessing then that each state has it's own separate rego database, and you can get the same plate in another state.
I know a guy with NB8B plates here in Vic.

The plate on mine is
MXN46
You need to be a reasonable distance to see the 4 as an A.

Standard rego plates on mine, reads "AUQ-73D"... which (if you exclude the numbers) kinda spells "Awkward".
Which is fitting, to anyone watching a guy my size try to climb out of the damn thing.

Re: Show me your numberplates and what they mean to you

My car's a 2004 SE but in the US, the model is known as the MAZDASPEED Miata, or more commonly as a "MSM" - in the US, the 2002 Titanium was known as the "SE" which leads to some confusion when discussing MX5/Miatas with the Yanks/Canucks.
Most of the MSM-specific stuff is now gone (the only MSM-specific bits left are the cam-cover, LSD and 6-speed gearbox but I think the latter 2 options were on other 2003/04 models anyway) so it might be time for an update?

I wanted to get NA6, but it would have been $2000, so I settled for NAX. I also would have liked 1010V, because the roman numeral for 1,010 is MX and V=5, but that pattern isn't available from VicRoads.

My ex-housemate had "IOI010" which computer+Sci-Fi nerds would recognise as "42" (Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy - "The Meaning of Life") in binary format.
