I've had a lot of experience with the standard VMaxx setup but not this one.

They are very well made for the price. I found them good for road and light track work.

I was initially put off by the exxcessive branding but the price is very attractive... How long have you had yours for, reliable?

Flyin Miata love them and rate them.
That's enough for me!

I don't have a set but if you use a ship by sea service you should have them landed for just over $1k

I just put in an order for FM V max classic coilovers for my NB from the FM website earlier today. I'll let you know what they quote for shipping, shipping times, how they turn out.

$832 + shipping from UK to Australia. Lots of $1000 coilovers in oz with oz suppliers and warrenties.

My turbo roadie had them installed. I lived with them for around 2 years. Did a couple of track days during that time and a fair amount of assorted road driving.

I have to say, I did prefer the BC BR units that were installed in one of my other cars. The BC was of course adjustable (whereas the poverty pack VMaxx wasn't). The BC also seemed to be more refined on rough surfaces. But the VMaxx were good units for the money - cost me just over half what the BCs cost at the time (I avoided shipping by having relatives schlep them over from the states when they came visiting - one coilover in each bag!).

I imagine the adjustability of the Extremes may bring them closer to the BCs...

...and sell them.

They sell ALOT of them in the US. After they were released back in 2010, they could barely keep stock for the first 18 months.

They are good units for the money. I'd take them over some of the dodgy ebay coilovers which are damped like a pornstar's bust.

But I still think the BC is better (at least than the standard VMaxx).

Flyin miata shipping is really high, you'd be better using a freight forwarder.

I think the OP was looking at buying them from MX5Parts.co.uk whose shipping is a lot more reasonable.

Also well rated on the Miata forum. I have the non adjustables and have had no issues. A lot better than OE and do a good job.

Yep, thought that would be the case, thanks anyway. Still waiting to hear back from MX5parts.uk...

After doing some more reading I ended up going for the FM version.
Shipping was $150 USD through Shipporter - not too bad.

While MX5Parts is a fair bit cheaper, it comes with 7/6 kg/mm springs and you can't order different springs - I tried asking.

FM ones come with their own custom springs which are 7/4.6ish kg/mm which is a lot closer to the ideal ratio.

I had wondered if the MX5Parts version was different to the FM version. It's nice to have that clarified for future reference. Let us know what you think once you get them.
