Ever bought an item from the forum and not received it? :(
Hello all,
Just wondering what the process is as I bought several items from a member and forum sponsor, once I paid for the items on the 5th of February I have not received any replies from him through PM's or email, I have sent numerous pleasant and polite requests for a response and still nothing.
I also have never received the items.
Do I have an avenue to obtain a refund?

Do you have their phone number or other details besides the forum? Have they been active/online?
Was the item sent via registered post and/or insured?
What method of payment did you use?
Depending on how you answer some of the above, will determine what avenue you can take next.

He is a Forum sponsor, well know and active, payment was made through the bank with an online transfer so I have his name and address as well as his MX5 business details, I have bough hundreds of items from forums, ebay, gumtree etc and never had an issue, I am just annoyed that he will not reply to any form of communication and it has been 3 months now.
Just want my money back and that's it.
Didn't want to have to so called name and shame people but what other option do I have, it might save other people the same grief I have had.

Hit up the mods to intervene.
If they can't help, name and shame.

Do you know if the items have been sent and are lost by courier or not even sent yet?
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

How would the OP know if the seller cannot communicate?
Personally I'd say whom it is. As long as the name and shame is truthful and factual, then it should be an issue.

If the business is a forum sponsor then presumably there must be a phone number and business address which can be accessed. There would a legal remedy and small claims tribunals are accessible- you would not pay. You can get free advice thru various channels. It would also be a good idea to contact the Bank and see if they can give any advice or remedy- cannot hurt to ask.
If indeed this person/business has failed to deliver the product after it has been paid for and is not responding then one wonders if the business should be a sponsor.
Sending e mails etc is useful for evidence its important to talk to the business. an arrange for money to be refunded.

sometimes people just forget/are lazy. I've only been ripped once on a R/C car forum which is massive. within 30 minutes of posting his username I had 4 people in SA who sort of knew the guy and had an address, phone numbers and someone willing to pop round and see what the go was. he did that and 3 days later I had my $1000 item. just don't be nasty, it doesn't get you places. Glad it's been resolved.
