Plenty of new records and PB's were set at the South Circuit last Sunday.

John Metham in his modified NA8A with a time of 1:05.40
Anthony Tang stock NB8A 1:10.49
Denis Chiswick modified NB8B 1:06.23
Cameron MacArthur modified SE 1:03.33
Ralph Thompson modified NC 1:02.86

Congratulations and great work by those who achieved their best times.

The records fell at the GP circuit on the weekend at Round 2 of the State Supersprints.

The bar has been set VERY high by the boys on the list below.

Stewart was driving his stock NC yesterday - not the NB8A. So there's a new NC record for you in 1B.

Not sure what the previous record was for NB8A in class 1B, but I did 1:57.8552 in my 10AE which qualifies for 1B and is a NB8A. Treat that how you will! :lol:

It should also be John Metham (not Robert) for NA8A ... in class 2B (not 2A).

It's going to be tricky to keep track of these records this year as so many of our club members have "upgraded" to higher classes in a bid to earn more club points. Good luck! :lol:

Phil, I noticed there are no records for NB8B in class 2B on both the GP and the Extended circuits. I case no one has ever recorded a better lap, I have 1:57.507 on GP and 2:28.55 on Extended :wink:

Bryan, the results sheet says "Robert" not "John" Metham. ???

People running in the SV class do cause accounting problems. I've dropped Stewart into the NB8A record for the extended circuit last year but I have a sneaky suspicion he drove the NC then as well. Anyone remember?

Not sure what's going on there, but you are correct. Metho is registered as "Robert" in the championship but "John" on Natsoft and in our club membership database. :?:

Metho has confirmed via email that "Robert" is a mistake (his middle name) and it should be "John". He's also driving a NA8 Clubman.

Many records updated from yesterday's event at the North Circuit.
An excellent result considering that drivers only had three or four runs.

I'm guessing Stuart was in his NC not NB, going on the time.

Big day yesterday for the Club on the Gardner (GP) circuit amassing some very good points towards the Championship.

Numerous PB’s and class records were set as the day started off nice and cool.

Bryan trimmed almost half a second off his previous best in the 10AE posting a 1:57.323 in Class 1B.

In Class 2B, Ralph in his NC did a 1:50.158, Denis Chiswick in his NB8B a 1:55.182.

In Class 2C, Luke in his SE did a 1:51.725 and yours truly in the NC a 1:50.198.

In the 3B race car class David Lawler managed a 1:52.373 just edging out Steve Green.

I note Dennis Chiswick did a 1:05.7441 in type 2B, breaking his own record?
And Bryan did a 1:06.8809 in type 1B (NB8), smashing Gus' time. There may have been more records broken. I have to stop looking!

Gee, you're super keen to see your name up in lights.

BTW, Gus and Bryan aren’t in the same model MX5.

There were seven new records established at the last event of the Supersprint calendar.
The day started in the mid 20’s and by the second run was into the mid 30’s making it very hard to put down superfast times.

Bryan took almost 2 seconds off the stock NB8A record before his new power steering hose cried enough.
Stewart established a stock NC record.
Drum roll………….Scott took 2 seconds of the modified NA record.
Mike trimmed his modified NB8A time as did Denis in the NB8B.
In the highly modified class Verne, turbo NB8A with ignition problems, took just under 3 seconds of his PB and I took a second off the NC record.

On a sad note, the Supersprint panel following complaints from certain sections of the series (not MX5's), have dropped the extended circuit from next years event. Let's hope it returns the following year.
